Harping on job losses without mentioning jobs created is dishonest.

Start talking about net jobs created, or in the case of the President - net jobs lost, and you might get my attention.

Or how about talking about exactly why jobs were lost.

Case in point: They loser who is being paid by the DNC to follow Romney around and whine about his lost job.

What he does NOT say is he lost his job thanks to the Union. http://www.politickerny.com/2012/01/09/meet-randy-johnson-the-fired-bain-factory-employee-bird-dogging-mitt-romney/

The 57-year-old described how he worked at a factory making office supplies owned by Smith Corona, which facing bankruptcy, sold his plant to another company, Ampad, that has recently been acquired by Bain Capital. Ampad promptly fired all of the workers at the plant, and then re-hired most of them. Since they were a union shop, and over half of the employees had been re-hired, the new owners were forced to recognize the union. They tried to renegotiate the contract, but the union eventually decided to go on strike, so Ampad shuttered the once-profitable factory.
Perhaps he should be hounding the President of his Union if he wants to snivel about his precious job.

LOL?

This guy goes on leave from his current UNION job to complain about once losing a job due to bankruptcy?

Because what I read from that it was because the UNION wouldnt make a deal that the plant got closed down. So, instead of part time lower wage jobs that might have kept the plant running they got no jobs.

AND THAT WASNT ROMNEY'S FAULT.

Meanwhile this guy gets his airfare and hotel paid by the DNC to fly around the country and complain about Romney again, while on leave from his UNION job...

ummm you do understand that the contract that the new owners (Ampad owned by Bain)had killed benefits and lowered wages, so of course they went on strike...And Bains answer was to suck the life out of the company for profit http://www.massresistance.org/romney/ampad_062607/index.html

Mitt Romney is a douche bag, no doubt in my mind. Using "political math" some would say that makes Obama okay....however you might note that OBAMA got about $1,000,000 in contributions from Goldman Sachs and douchebag Romney got around $350,000.

Maybe they are both douchebags? I think I'll go with that...yeah... they're both douchebags.

I am no fan of Romney or the GOP in general, but a minor point: In spite of what he appears to have been at Bain, and the fact that the "fire people" hoopla is taken completely out of context, what exactly do all these GOP and TPers think all their cuts are going to do?

An industry in decline, a company making typewriter supplies (TYPEWRITERS!), was important; but it was the intransigence of Union goons that resulted in the bankruptcy.

All employees were let go, then most re-hired under a new contract; which they rejected.

That's the way it goes in industry. Companies must remain profitable or they go away.

Are you still mourning the loss of the buggy whip industry, too?

Excellent point about the buggy whips Johnny. That's why MY candidate has "something for everyone". Vermin Supreme will "give" everybody a pony, thus "creating jobs" AND bringing back a thriving buggy whip industry. Job creation!!!

What seems to be lost on you is the huge profits these companies make at the cost of others... The industry should not go like that... If you and NLXSK1 owned a weed company and I come in and buy/invest in a major controlling share of both your companies whilst charging you a huge advisory fee.. ...I then borrowed millions against your companies to boost up a third company, pay my stock holders and line my pockets as well...I then cut the wages of your employees and kill their benefits ....Your company is unable to pay off the borrowed debt and has striking workers, so I then just sell off the company leaving people out of work and me with nothing but profits....are you telling me that is the American way and thats just how the industry should be ran

You bring up a good argument for a company to remain privately held.

You could only buy my company if I sold it to you.

Then it would no longer be my company, now would it?

So why would I care what you did with YOUR company?

Now let me get this straight....

The PROGRESSIVE is against the march of progress.

Unprofitable companies should be FORCED to stay in existence.

I would care about something that I started even if I did not have a controlling share in the business any longer..I would think that I would have bonded with many of the workers to still care about the way they are being treated and if they still can feed their family.... but hey thats just me... I guess you could care less

It would be none of my BUSINESS once I sold the company. It's your company now.

I have already moved on, and either retired or started a new company.

In the case of Ampad, those Union goons had a choice.

If they could not feed their families, that's on them; not Romney.

And if someone makes a monumentally stupid choice which directly results in them not being able to support themselves, I couldn't care less. Why should I?

It's not my responsibility.

Either my points are lost on you or you are one cold hearted motherfucker .... You go right ahead and cast your vote for Mitt... and stop blaming everything on Unions...hell I've always been part of management even in the service, but I still acknowledge the good the unions can bring to the table for worker safety and fairness...The strike at Ampad was due to layoffs ,benefits and wage cuts but seems Bain still was making a profit...care to argue that

Funny, I do not recall saying I was voting for Romney.

In fact, I am not participating in the primaries at all because I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I am a Conservative who is just watching and waiting....

For the candidate who will defeat Obama.

Kindly do not dictate to me my own opinions.

Unions SUCK Democratic Donkey DICKS!

And they swallow.
