How Close to Flowering Buds, HPS

Hello All,

I just past the three week point (flowering). This is my first indoor grow and I am starting to see some melting buds at various heights. The tops are bright yellow under HPS and the hairs are gone. When I place my hand over them there is not much heat. I raised the lamps again but am concerned about the lower buds getting enough light. 2 1000W HPS with bat wings.

Do I need to be as close as possible to ALL, or is it enough for them to just be getting the HPS light? Thank you.

It looks like your doing fine. Try to keep the temp at the tops below 85 degrees. Also you might consider a Lite spreader. It will help cool directly under the bulb but also spreads the light more evenly.

Outstanding! Thank you guys! I posted this in the Indoor section and got NO response. That's pretty much been the status quo there.

Thanks, Brother. I am pretty excited about them. Those pics are from 12/30. I'll take some mroe pics tonight because they look way better already! So grateful to know the 1000Wers penetrate the canopy. I've burned some great buds, including two stellar colas that are probably worthless now.

Thank you Lime73. My 600 Watt HPS has been around 16" since i started and was Trial & Error to find that hight. I'm glad it was in the right ball park
