In need of help from ones alike...

Hi all, recently I have had some bad hits of depression and my anxiety has kind of gotten worse as well. Anyway, my original idea of smoking weed was to supress this problem. Also, it makes me feel more centered and spiritual (connected). But recently getting high has kind of become my life, and it is almost making my problems worse.

It is making me financially fucked, (Yea, I am growing but have nothing left of last years harvest) I feel like I have sort of become a stoner/crack head, like I wake'n'bake and spend most of the day fucked up on weed. I never would kill myself, but my mind is always racing, and thinking ... why bother... why try...it all ends in death....and feel like I'm sedated in an asylum

My question to you is, what methods/steps do you take to start limiting your weed. I don't smoke tobacco with joints haven't in ages, so I'm not addicted to anything. My tollerance to weed has built up, caused me to gain some extra lbs and this has caused me to smoke more weed to get high. Either way, I want to start limiting my intake quite significantly, especially in regards to my health and well being.

Second, if I lost some weight (I'm not fat, but could lose maybe 15lbs) would I get the same high of less bud?

Use, do not abuse. These racing thoughts can be captured, and used.

Try fasting.

You would definitely get higher. And it used to be a HUGE part of religious life. EVERYONE that considered themselves spiritual used to fast at some time. Even Christians.


Water/Apple Cider Vinegar/Honey Combo, I've heard keeps you "Fed" while still starved.

I no longer smoke it and feel better but possibly, just get what might be getting inside you fixed in life wait a bit and when the time is right try again. I feel you man i feel you, going through the same

Go on a T-break and increase your exercise or start exercising. I have PTSD and I was going through what you are about 2 years ago. I realized that I was using Cannabis to get high rather than as treatment. So I went on a T-break and stepped up my training. I quit using Cannabis for a little over a month. I went to a therapist and learned some coping tools and alternative means of dealing with my anxiety. I refused to use pharmaceuticals so the therapist worked with me to find out what worked and what didn't.

When I started using cannabis again as treatment, I used far less and kept my priorities firmly in place. I vape around twice a day with a nice Sativa and then use Indica to help me sleep. Every now and then I get baked to the gills and I find it's far more enjoyable that way.

I am planning on doing that soon, before I start a diet.
Don't try fasting, that shit is not good for your body and it can fuck up your metabolism.

Do something like a body clense. Only drink water and eat vegetables/fruits for a week or two, but don't starve yourself.

Gajames is right. Fasting only shuts down your metabolism and puts your body in starvation mode. When that happens it will do anything it can to save your fat stores. Fasting is the worst thing you can do to lose weight. Because your body will sacrifice your muscle tissue before it will let go of the fat. The best way to lose weight is to increase your protein, cut back on simple carbs. Drink tons of good clean water. Stay away from alcohol and soda like it's the plague.

ive got 53 days in right now, and it was hardest at the begining. i had been wanting to quit for a lot of different reasons. i guess the best reason i can give... is to figure out who i am. and i know that im a different person when im high, or drunk, or using caffeine. so i decided to stop all of them. it took months before i gained enough courage.. the alchohol was easy and so was the caffeine, but the cannabis, it was so hard. for me, i couldnt have any around me at all for the first week. i remember trying to quit while i still had some of my home grown left i was going to save, but it didnt work. i even kept telling myself after i justified myself smoking... arent i stronger than this? i thought i had more strength, and inner courage. it took a lot out of me. i had to let go of my ego, and i had to humiliate myself within myself, to give me enough courage to stop. (been tokin every single day for the past 6 years) after a week, i had enough courage and stregth, i just kept telling myself. man your a week in zaehet... dont fail yourself, if anything dont fail yourself. the more time goes on, the more strength, courage and wisdom i gain. the more time passes, the more insight i gain on how differently i was when i was getting high all the time. my goal is 1 year of nothing at all, that way i dont have to tell myself its never going to be again.

as fked up as this might sound, one of the things biggest things that kept me from quitting was the thought that...if i quit, what if i find that i like being sober more and i dont ever want to smoke weed again? that scared the shit out of me, because smokin weed was the thing i loved the most ya know? messed up, but still just another mental justification for me not quitting when i knew that i should.

i can honestly say that im not any happier than i was... but also, im not any more sad. i just have a much clearer mind, i see things more clearly, i think more clearly. i am starting to be able to remember things for longer periods of time, (like where i set my cup after i took a drink out of it and walked away from it) things i have been wanting to study and not been able to remember i can a lot better now. my dreaming has become more vivid, and my dream recall has increased dramatically. becoming lucid in my dreams is still hard, but i think that has something to do with aging as well.

ps. not sure if this is relevant or not, but 7 years ago i was pretty bad into a heroin addiction. i actually went to a rehab in mississippi for 4 months. i weighed 135 when i got there, and i unconsciously replaced my heroin use with food. when i got out i weighed 190. the reason i say this is to be very careful not to replace one addiction with another....
(havent used since, and never will again)

He said he USES weed spiritually (Hence My spiritual suggestion)
He said he wants to lose weight, to maybe have a lower tolerance, with less weight (Hence my fasting suggestion)
