First real attempt at home grow

just bought 3 5100k 42w off line, cost me 40 bucks.

today is day 7 of the grow.
I bought another clamp light today, so the lights are in a much better, much needed position.
The temp is at 72F right now. If I leave the fan on the temp get down to 69F and when I turn it off it gets up to 83F, so basically I just keep an eye on it
Is fluctuating temp stressful for my babies?
still haven't gotten a chance to go to wal-mart and get hygrometer or ph kit, seems to be doing well so far though.

well, when I was setting up my buddies grow room with him, we had a major heat problem, all we did was make a hole for the heat exhaust, and another hole for air intake, and just get some big like 80cm fans like for computers and just rig them up to constantly be pushing cool air in and hot air out

okay, so today is very early in the morning on day 12, Like i said I have 4 42 w on the plants as of now. One of the plants is doing great and has grown to 6in(15.24 cm) wide because it was getting most of its light from the 6500k 42w I had before but the other 2 only had the light of the 23w 3000k's.The temp is staying at a even 79F during the day. I'm pretty excited things are looking good,, worst comes to worst hopefully the good one will be female and I'll end up with a good ounce or so.

you've convinced me to grow with cfl lol
im brand new to this... so if i bought 4, 42 watt cfls that will be good for the growing stage, and i keep it at 18/6
then what other lights would i need for flowering? and i leave that at 12/12?

Thanks alot! well for flowering you re gonna want lights more in the red part of the lights spectrum, once you decide you want to flower your plants replace most of(but not all) of the 6500k lights you have for veg with the 2700k or 3000k your got for flower, the more lumens you have per sq. ft will effect how big, dense or even how delicious your buds are.look around on the package of the lights and see if it says a number like 6500k , or do you know if they are soft white or cool white?
im poor so for my first grow i think that i have to stick with the first lights i get lol. it sucks but ill deal with it
more of a learning experience for me

But best bet is to throw up all purchases for the gurus! (thats smart)
You want /need the best bang for the buck!
(btw, I'm no guru and can spend money like its going out of style, yet a cheapo at times)
I feel that CFLs are good to get the veg rolling, hopefully that will give you enough time to get the bloomroom ready (bloom room is where the $ should be spent) CFL's obviously can be used for flowering (killer 4oz per month (maybe 2 months) thread in the CFL forum!)

Well depending on how its going ill def change up, but to start cfl is where its at for me
Plus I live with my girlfriend in a small apartment, shes ok with me growing weed with lights but the second she walks in a a huge grow room with expensive parts shell start to not support it as much haha... she likes weed but not like me
Not only is it learning for me but its to show her its not that bad haha, so ill stick with a cheap looking CFL set up haha

See the difference?
this one has grown to about 8 in.(20.32cm)that's 2 In. in the last 23 hours! The leaves are hanging off the edge of the pot. I'm pretty excited.
But in everyones opinion should I try to grow all three and flower all three at the same time, or focus all of the lights on the one big one? should I wait until I start flowering and find out males and females?
