Yeah man good romulan is hard to come by. Depends on how I'm feeling, i will either use my bub with a smaller bowl and a glass rod to ignite it. Or I'll use the PHX double honeycomb and a dabbing extension. I used to like using the titanium nail but the glass nail seems to get hotter IMO. We also have a chemist that makes us ear wax. Either using butane to extract or co2. The only one that has been tested was our mixed trim with la con and Kushberry...testing at 53% THC.

edit: Have you seen the earwax that is starting to get big in Cali? I saw some tested wax that was 76% thc!!! Stuff was $50 per gram!!!

Ear Wax has been going strong in Cali for a couple years the shit is so powerful, man one hit feels like I just smoked about 2 blunts I try and get it whenever I head down that way but its kind of expensive at like 50 bucks a gram.

i make my own for bout a year now. a true wax disappears on the nail/skillet. ice water hash rarely does. this is some wax i made. that glob was 7g from 50 g of trim.

it is easier than you think and as long as you are not a fucking idiot it can be safe. there are lots of great tutorials out there. all you need is:
stainless steal turkey baster ($8 @ bed bath and beyond)
a pyrex dish
high quality butane (at least 5x refined) i use vector
unbleached coffee filters
hose clamp
vacuum sealer.
bho is easy to make and then making wax takes a bit of experience but it is not hard to learn. it is also easy to effectively purge out the butane and other gases if you know what you are doing. in my experience i get a better return on bho vs bubble, and the bho is better than the bubble in most respects except that bubble has more of a full spectrum high with a higher emphasis on the body vs bho which is like a fucking rocket ship for your head.

oh and ear wax goes for almost 2x as much as bubble in some cases. a good price for wax is 40-60 per gram depending on quality and connections. bubble goes from anywhere from 15-35 per gram also depending on quality and and availability.

Butane leaves a chemical in the hash that is BAD for you man!!!
I would not really call it hash... But it sure does get you high!!

you are incorrect, if purged correctly most of the butane is no longer in the product, this is the biggest mistake that most people make. that is what the vac sealer is for. i have made this in a large scale with someone else and they had it tested. and the levels of butane were comparable to the amount you inhale when you smoke with a lighter. i am not going to argue about this because i have seen the process and test results. this is how vendors make all the earwax in cali unless they have a tamisium extractor which is the same process but a more efficient purging process which can reclaim the solvent used r they use co2 which requires more equipment and is more expensive.

i am curious to what your experiences with BHO have been seeing that you have such an extensive experience base to draw such broad generalizations. surely your opinion is experience based and not some shit you read somewhere.

your first mistake is doing it indoors. first lets think about what we are using.
butane is a highly flamable gas which is used in almost all lighters. when kept under pressure or below 31 degrees (not sure if this is exact) it will remain in a liquid state. butane is highly flamable as both a gas and a liquid and as a gas is heavier than air. this means the butane will boil off your collection plate if placed in a warm water bath. as the butane boils, the gas cascades down the sides of the pan and pools in low areas. open ventilation is key to dissipate this gas and prevent any build ups. there should be no open flames or running electronics in the area. i always do it outside and you should too imo the outdoors is the only place with sufficient ventilation to feel safe.
your next mistake was to use pvc pipe. this will leave chemicals in the BHO from the plastic which will be stripped by the butane which remember is a solvent. the best materials for extraction tubes are stainless steel and glass and sometimes copper only if you clean the tube thoroughly with solvents after each use.

so the science behind it is that we dissolve the lipids from the material (cannabinoids and terpines) with the butane, collect the solution, boil off the butane, collect the residual cannainoids and terpines, and then make it into a wax like consistency.

now in order to remove all the solvent (butane) from the solution, the purging process must be effective. there are two methods to remove the butane from the solution. the first method is with heat now this is easy in the initial stages of purging because the solution is not very viscous and the butane bubbles can escape easily. once 95% of the butane has boiled off what you are left with is very viscous and the bubbles have a slower time escaping. at this point many people wax it and call it done which will lead to some butane still being trapped in the end product. now the second method of purging is with a vacuum. instead of finishing when 95% has been purged it is best to place your solution in a vaccum. when this is done the bho puffs and bubbles up as the remaining butane is purged. i do this at least five time for at least five minutes each. it helps if the bho is heated slightly to lower the viscosity.

the thing about bho is it is a chemical extraction rather than a physical one( bubble) and you must have some idea what you are doing and must use your brain. using improper tools (wrong material extractor, low quality butane, etc.) and incomplete techniques can leave residual butane or other chemicals in your end product. while this is a simple process to learn it takes some time and thought to master. if you are the kind of person who likes to half ass then buy some bags and throw your shit in a bucket with some ice, stir strain and dry. if you want the most potent hash oil possible then run bho. but above all if you want to ake bho DO IT OUTSIDE, NO EXCEPTIONS. the last thing we need is you someone on the news for blowing themselves up. be safe and use your brain.

there is a lot if misinformation out there and most peep dont really wanna find out the truth. i use vac sealer to purge my bho. you can also buy a brake bleeder ( i think its called) and rig a mason jar up to it. basically you want to creat a vacuum whic you can put your bho in. what i do is scrape my collection pan after all large bubbles have subsided (20-30 min in hot water bath) i collect all the bho into a oil dish, i then take that dish and heat slightly and cover with loosely. i then put the loosely covered dish in a vac bag and vac seal it for at least 5 minutes. my dish and cover are both glass so i can watch my bho puff up its pretty cool. it is kind of like putting a marshmallow in the microwave. i make the bag extra long so i can cut it open and reseal a bunch of times. one key is to slightly heat the bho when you vac it. i use a very small torch to heat the bottom of the dish ( never torch the bho directly this will scorch it and it will never wax) i have also put the sealed bag in a hot water bath like a chef would sou-vie something. i have seen a bit of the CO2 wax but never tried it or made it. i dont have access to lab equipment nor do i want to shell out the money for it. my wax works just fine for me and tastes amazing. if there is butane still in the product you will taste it, and i have tasted it a few times. the risk is there but it can be mitigated through proper technique and equipment.

next time i make some ill prob take pics and then write up a tutorial. my wax keeps me high for 4 hours minimum and i mean high that you can feel. when i made my first batch i was in a rush to go and meet my GF for a family dinner. i have been smoking for years and can handle my shit, but i took one dab and then drove and it was like i was smoking for the first time. now all i pretty much smoke is wax. my tolerance is very high, but i dont cough like i did when i smoked flower and i dont hack up anything in the morning. i also like it because i can use just trim for my wax and save all the flower for patients. its wierd but i covet my trim more than my flower. the gold is in the trim, the flower is already accounted for. as far as taste goes certain starins will yield a tastier oil depending on terpine profiles. i made this one wax with a some shitty flowers from a white dwarf auto flower, the wax tasted amazing, lots of musky, afgany, choclaty notes with that underlying coffee flavor. if you dont purge though the taste will not be there. one thing i learned in making all different kinds of concentrates (bubble, bho, dry ice, dry sift, iso) the end product will only be as good as the material used. you will never make a bomb oil from a plant that is not bomb or material that is sub par. hash making is not magic and you cant get anything out that you dont put in. the key is isolating the good shit and getting rid of the crap.
