Lowryder #2 bed grow

i know you are not using nutes now, but did you use them much with your other grows? just minimal levels? also, what is your view on molasses?

yeah i use em in other grows, sterted bloom ferts in weeks three at 25% increasing to %100 by week 7 and straight water for the last week before harvest. molasses is good.... and cheap. when i use molasses i use beet molasses.

yeah but its a pain in the ass esp if you live in the states. its simpler to pollenate. you just said that, why are you disagreeing with me now...?

ah hahaha..... yeah. not dissagreein that the price is too high, just sayin $5 wouldn't be bad.... i pay $8 each with shipping ordering from overseas, which is really $16 each female.

I please advise about lumens. Do you think that 2 LR2 plants in a small cabinet would do well with a 150 watt HPS or would you need supplemental lighting? If so then I testing indicates I will have heat issues and have to invest in some ventilation equipment which I would like to avoid.

well a 150hps in my opinion is plenty, i'd still throw in a couple 13watt blue cfl's for the first couple weeks, but if you don't have em or can't afford em you'll be fine with what you have. i have 400watts on my bed now and the lights are about 8-10 inches above the plants.... there are 9 females in the bed. your 150's initial lumens should be around 16,000.

Hey zoid I have some Important Pollenating questions I hope you can help me with...

When should I first pollinate? (As soon as I have pollen and a white hair?)

Can I cut some of the nodes/stems off of the male plant (cause some are getting too tall) and place em in a mason jar to dry or just let them dry, in order to get the pollen later?

i usualy pollinate around day 30, once the actual bud starts to form... i guess you could pollinate when there are a few hairs but i would imagine you wouldn't get alot of seeds. i have always waited for the buds to form so i can't really say what would happen for sure.

as far as cuttin em off and puttin em in a jar.... they are going to have to be really close to poppin for this to work... there is a thread that tells a way you may find useful....https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/6911-collecting-male-pollen.html the pictures aren't there but you can read what videoman40 posted, this would suit what you wanna do i think.

ok...... i'm REALLY sorry i don't have new pics up yet, i will try to get em up today. they are all doing good, four are over 5 inches and the other five are gunna stay small i think. the tallest was 7 inches this morning. i have sprayed the female i took out with gib acid and she appears to be recovering from it, but is unable to take direct lighting yet.

this is day 22 from seed.

first four...... group shots. then two close ups of tops, then a side view of largest..... then two of the girl who got gibbed, making her comeback.

in the second pic you can see in the top right corner, the small plant... she shot out four sets of fan leaves at the same time.

the bed i'm using is 2 feet long and 16 inches wide.... it's hard to say with lr2's.... as you can tell some stay pretty small. i'd fill up the space, the roots will not need alot of room to grow, i have used one gallon buckets and had no root binding.... they didn't even fill out the bottom of the buckets. i'd say you have enough room for at least 30 if you put 4 in a 1 foot pot, but you'll have to throw in your 70's after they show sex... and it's gunna be crowded. i'd fit as many as i could in there, figuring %50 of em are gunna be males. it'll be easier to take your males out if you use jiffy pellets.... it will keep the majority of the roots close to the plant till sex shows....

i have been keeping my lights 8 inches from the tops with a single oscillating fan blowing. i do not have a temp gage in with the lr2's so i can't say what i'm averaging.... but these girls are very sturdy. the room i use to grow doesn't have heat and it has been getting down to about 30degrees at night, so my room prolly goes down to 50.... no problems.... and the biggest has been averaging 3/4inch of new growth a day.

so the cops came to the apartment about an hour ago..... on accident, they were pickin up my neighbor on a warrant.... he had 2 1/4 pounds of schwag and all i could say to the cops was, "i can't believe that was going on here, right next door.... bla bla bla ....... and just when i thought i found a good neighborhood." my dog wouldn't quit barking at em. good dog.

the initial opening of the door...... i almost shit myself.

I'm a nube and it looks like each male I plucked had open pollen bags despite my daily vigilance. Seems to me in my limited experience that this strain has pollen bags that appear overnight and start releasing pollen. Not a problem for this grow as I want seeds, but what gives. I'm going to have pollen released with each grow until I can identify males really really early. Do you agree?

About your neighbor - situation sucks, but that Oxycontin and other pain killers will ruin your life!!!!! No personal use experience, just experience of picking up the pieces at work every day.

the oxy's are why i had little sympathy for his situation.... but it was his choice. that's crazy if they opened before you could get em out of there... i get mine out as soon as the lil ball that will be the sack starts to form, but even then when i save for pollen it usually takes until the top sack cola forms before any usable pollen is ready... and i found with most of my male's that even when the first sacks opened (the lower ones) they did not release pollen.... if the little flowers inside the sacks were still green they prolly didn't have pollen in em. you can tell if your females were pollinated by wether or not the flowers turn brown and die off. here are a couple pics, the first is of a pollenated lr2 bud and the second is of a non pollinated bud, both at 40 days.

what line of work are you in? if you don't mind me askin.
