My Cats Ran Away

I had a few friends over to smoke and drink last night and I went ahead and went to bed before they left because I had to get to get up at this morning. I gave my friends the code to my door and told them to lock it behind them because it doesn't stay closed very well if you don't and the cats will get out.

So I woke up at 1 AM to go get some water and the fucking door was WIDE open. They didn't even SHUT it. I called my friend and yelled at him and he said he FORGOT to close the door when I specifically told him to close and lock it. My two cats and dog were gone. So I've been up since 1 searching for my pets.

I found the dog and my older cat came back because it got cold and started raining but the younger cat is still out there. I called all the shelters and vets and put up like 50 posters but the younger cat doesn't have his collar with my number on it. Hopefully he'll either get found or come back like the other one did but I'm REALLY pissed my idiot friend FORGOT to close the door when I specifically told him to do so.

Yeah is would say you should kick your friend in the nuts. If it only happend last night the kitty will probably be hungry and come home. Also Ive always had outdoor cats, which don't really work at an appartment complex but they always make it home/

Well my other came back at 4 this morning and he was pissed because he was wet and he ate a shit load of food, but he's a fat ass cat. My other isn't dumb and I don't think he could have gone far. Hopefully he'll come back, I have a feeling he will, but idk.

I wouldn't be nearly as worried if he had his collar on but I found it under the couch last night when I was looking for them in the house.

No worries bro, cats are pretty good at finding their way home... keep an ear out for mewing at the front door. Glad to hear you've already done phone calls and posters. You have a good chance of getting that one back still. Keep the faith, kitty love will prevail.

Yea, since my other cat came back I'm pretty hopeful, and I've got 3 bowls of food in various places out front of my door. He normally has a bell on him so I can hear him but he doesn't have the collar. I'm pretty sure he'll try and come back when he gets hungry.

Careful, you might end up with a bunch of strays living in your yard, hahaha. Worth the risk I guess. <3

Cats are pretty resourceful when they're outside. It is of their nature to be in the out doors. I have a pure bred Persian and one of my kids let her out by accident, a week later to the day (a Saturday) I found her and chased her into the garage.

that sucks. I was seeing this stupid bitch on time that let my dog run out the door. spent two hours chasing the fucker all over the place. Somme people just do not have brains, Life is so much better with out them in it letting pets run free

I feel terrible. I can't even sit down for more than like 5 minutes without having to get up and look out the window or going outside and calling his name.

I feel like it's my fault, I should have stayed up until they left to make sure they shut the door. I feel like I shouldn't be sitting around doing something else with him gone. I've looked everywhere in the apartment complex but I feel like I still need to look.

I'm mostly worried he got hit by a car, I'm not that worried about him finding his way back or getting food or something. He'll eventually be able to find his way back unless he got picked up or hit.

Well hey man, go wander around if it makes you feel better. The fresh air will clear your head. Just don't stay out ALL day incase he comes back.. in fact if he's gonna come back on his own I would expect him around dusk or dawn... mid day you should be out lookin if you want to.

It's true... but rest assured that if he doesn't come back it's more likely because he found a new posh home with some kids to play with or someting, rather than being run over...
