Why Grow with Hydro?

Chiceh

Global Mod, Stoner Chic
Been busy harvesting some chronic and ak47 which were grown in the same tray (which is possible in hydro as long as the flowering times are similar - meant for the OP ;) ). My next round is two different phenos from my own strain, also going in the same tray with some dumpster. PM box is ready when you are ;).
I hope you didn't make the same mistake I did with labelling them (I forgot)
I have 3 strains on the table noticablly different but with same flowering times LOL. :D

I've mixed strains up before but I learned to be more organized from that mistake . I do mix plants in the same tray these days as long as their structures are similar and the flower times are close. It's nice to have a constant stream of variety and it's also a great way to compare two different phenos (literally) side-by-side while keeping all parameters the same.

Seriously? "Hitler" and "Rape", you do have a flair for the dramatic. If your going to insult me, have the good fucking grace to be creative about it. Instead you use the same shit every other asshole that lacks an original thought process falls to on the internet. Congratulations. And that 2 pages of ranting you were bitching about? You just added to it, smooth goin, slick. You want to know why I didn't just say "I disagree"? Because I could give a shit if I agree or not, it was just out of place. We have a soil section, and a hydro section, one for each school of growers. As a common courtesy, normally the soil growers stay in their section, and vice versa. For some unknown reason, soil growers like yourself are feeling the need to come here to start shit. So stop fronting like your just here to "share your opinion". Your here to start drama, and you've done it. If your a soil grower not here to learn hydro or to add to the learning of hydro, don't post here, last warning. If thats to hard for you to comprehend, I could give a shit. Thank you, and goodnight.
In fact, I'm here to LEARN about hydro. I'm planning to build 2-3 DWC buckets in the next week or so. Thats all I have to say. I already lost by responding to you in the first place. Have a good evening.

Geez, two full pages of ranting. People should be able to present their opinions without being chastised by a Hitler mod. For fucks sake man, just let people give their opinions, afterall thats exactly what they are: OPINIONS! No need to get butthurt about it. Just reply with why you disagree and leave it alone. Why take over the thread with your petty arguments. You guys are acting like children.

BTW, I've had buds hydro and soil a plenty and I must agree, soil buds taste MUCH better while hydro buds had more of a chemical taste and they were harsher smoke as well. Not a fact, just my OPINION, no need to rape me for it.
Hm. And I've had plenty of soil grown bud that paled in comparison to my hydro grown bud...in taste, density, potency, flavor, appearance, yield...everything. In fact I've never smoked a soil grown bud that is equal to mine.

And someone mentioned fuckin' Cannabis Cup? You gotta be fuckin' kidding me. Half those fuckin' strains would be laughed out of LA dispensaries. Gimme a fuckin' Cali OG Kush Cup. The winner, and even the losers of that cup is better weed.

To the OP: both methods produce great results. The bottom line is to each his own, it's just a matter of finding what is right for you. Maybe you could run a few soil plants and a few hydro plants at first for an "exhibition grow" so to speak, and decide which you like more after it's finished. Nothing better than hands on experience to help you decide.

Soil has bugs pathogens, poor oxygen, dirty pain in the ass to get Reid of oh did I also mention fucking bugs.

†LHFAO† oh boy. Okay. Damn. In person, this would be so much easier to handle, either fight it out, or smoke a spliff, online...not so much.
1) DJ, first off, homebrewer is a hella accomplished hydro growers.
2) I like to think my grammar is decent, but my spelling sucks, so I feel your pain. :p
3) soil isn't necessarily outdated, it has indeed served man well for millennium. Hydro is just a different style, and both have their pluses, which I'm still exploring.
4) I'm not sure why soil growers or proclaimed soil growers have invaded, but they've chilled and are apparently here to learn/add to the conversation, as such, all is well in the thread...err..was...
5) we just got finished with a bunch of shit, no need to go stirring the pot.
Relax, smoke a spliff, no need for grammar insulting †looks at homebrewer† shit talking †looks at djblowens and other† etc. This thread was just getting back on track, so lets steer it back in that direction. :blsmoke:

depends on your personality in my opinion, to me hydro is faster and easier, doesnt get much better than that amirite?

I've done both types for many years now, and I've grown more than just marijuana in both, so I feel I can offer an OPINION: Hydro > Soil in every respect.
Healthier, cleaner, safer, higher potency, higher yield, thicker bud density, BETTER TASTE, and overall a better final product. And I can say that for Marijuana and for fruits and vegetables that I've grown in earth boxes in soil, and hydro setups. Hydro > Soil. But only if done correctly, and by someone who has the right information on how to do things.
My fruits and vegetables taste better, have better yields, and less deficiencies and deformities in the final product. Regarding Marijuana.....yes soil can create an excellent final product, just less of it. I've grown the same strain in soil and hydro, and I can tell you that my patients all regarded the hydro buds to be superior to the soil ones. Just MY OPINION.
If you really know the ins and outs of hydroponics growing I do believe you can produce an overall superior product to what a master soil grower can produce. Someone earlier in this thread made a good comparison to what would happen if you gave a noob dr. dre's studio and dr. dre a laptop...who would produce better music? In the end a lot of your final product comes down to personal knowledge, not just growing style.

Also regarding chastising someone for posting in any section of this site is wrong. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and should only be chastised if they are being inflammatory. (which I didn't see the original soil growers post as being, yes it was opinionated towards soil being > hydro, but my post here is just the opposite). Each person can express their opinion, even if I don't find myself going into the soil growing section and touting how awesome hydro is to the soil people, I still feel he has a right to come over here and post about how he thinks its great. To each his own, and let each person decide on what's > to them. Try all the growing methods, figure out what works best for you. No answer is the right one.
