Yes, Indoor growing is new to me, When i set this room up, I had no choice but to go with hid lights. But I am a forward thinker and am always looking for better, whether i make it myself or spend countless hours researching. I'm a very street smart person in most regards of life and can usually smell bullshit pretty good. I wasted a lot of time researching led lights. I couldn't justify to myself the cost of a good panel, much less multiples of them. During the process of wading through the led bs, I came across induction lights (not pro grow, but otheres). after more wasted hours of researching, I came across pro grow and was a little intrigued. After a few lengthy conversations with mike from pro grow, I settled on trying them out. In exchange for a journal, I would get 2 lights at a discount.
The plants that are growing currently are doing very well under the lights they are under (mh in a 4x4 veg tent and 1000 watt hps with an ultra sun bulb in the 4x8 bloom room).
If there is a con going, then i am being conned too, however my gut tells me that it will be ok, and i usually have pretty good gut feelings.
Like i said before, this first grow is going to be lopsided because the first 2 plants have been flowering for 3 weeks. I cut and formed the hoods last night and am powdercoating them today (yes i know this was supposed to be allready done, but paying work comes first). I'll have everything put together and hung up tonight.
What i hope everyone takes from this is their own opinions of the lights without relying on heresay through advertising.
Hopefully the outcome of this will tell everyone that if i can do it, then everybody else can too, and the people with a ton of indoor experience will be able to blow me away with quantities of quality product.
There are apparently quite a few happy people growing with these lights and are very happy, but I have only talked with a couple of them and they arn't savvy to coming onto forums to discuss what they do. So I'm taking the chance and doing this. Sure i could have went with the old standard, but if everybody went with the old standard, then nothing new would ever rise. You have to take chances, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.
