did the EPA cause these things, or do they work to resolve them?

:dunce:
I think they work for paychecks
If my fucking water catches fire I will be working full time to resolve the issue with no help from the EPA and without the anticipation of a paycheck.
Maybe they shouldn't be allowing companies to do stupid shit for profit but since they do i'm all for laying off the lot of them and using the savings to reduce the deficit

Ron Paul is the only hope for our troubled country. The MSM twists his ideas every chance they get. It is true that he wants to get rid of 5 FEDERAL agencies. The part that most seem to miss is that we (the States) are held down by the Fed. Our school system is a prime example. States have to all fall in line with the FED standard. Funny how we have a lower level of education than many other countries while being held under the Feds thumb. So like the failed war on drugs; the Fed's war on ignorance has also failed and needs to be terminated.

Regarding the EPA; he never said that the dump valves would be opened and raw sewage would be tossed into rivers and lakes. The whole river of fire incident occurred during the "Dilution is the solution campaign". We've learned from our mistakes, but with that have acquired tree-hugger mentality that is preventing us from becoming energy dependent. The EPA is a for sale organization just like all the other Fed programs. Example; A handicapped woman wanted to build a home that would suit her medical needs. The problem is a small endangered bird was spotted on the property. She was then told she can not disturb their environment and was left hopeless. Six months later; Walmart opened a store across the street. Now, did this occur because the bird doesn't go across the street or did it happen because Walmart is big and rich enough to buy their way around the EPA. (This is on a personal level)

The EPA and nearly every other regulation is main reason why countless companies have uprooted and moved across the pond. The did so because it is cheaper and easier to open shop. This is a problem that is easily remedied. China build a 15 story building in 6 days. That would have been impossible here due to labor unions and the countless regulations that go along with such a project.

The Civil rights argument is bullshit as well. Ever head of affirmative action? Ever heard of a fire department having to dumb down their tests because some whinny civil rights org has deemed the questions racially imbalanced. This is wrong; I don't care if you are polka dotted, as long as you passed the test; come save me. But nope, the civil rights gurus don't see it that way. Over turning bullshit laws that make it easier for someone that isn't the best to get a job over someone more qualified is one of the reasons our entitlement system has become the way it is. Our country used to be full of hard working folks who held themselves accountable for their actions. Now we work hard, are rapped by taxes that go to pay for those who would rather sit on their asses.

Don't take my word for it. Google Ron Paul. Better yet; check out the videos on youtube. There is a lot of great info that will better explain his stance and hopefully make it easier for those to "get it".

Whats wrong with downsizing the government? Is everyone going to kill everyone without them? Are we all going to die without the gov there to regulate every single thing in our lives?

The United States Department of Energy (DOE) is a Cabinet-level department of the United States government concerned with the United States' policies regarding energy and safety in handling nuclear material. Its responsibilities include the nation's nuclear weapons program, nuclear reactor production for the United States Navy, energy conservation, energy-related research, radioactive waste disposal, and domestic energy production. DOE also sponsors more basic and applied scientific research than any other US federal agency; most of this is funded through its system of United States Department of Energy National Laboratories.
The agency is administered by the United States Secretary of Energy, and its headquarters are located in southwest Washington, D.C., on Independence Avenue in the Forrestal Building, named after James Forrestal, as well as in Germantown, Maryland.

The primary functions of the Department of Education are to "establish policy for, administer and coordinate most federal assistance to education, collect data on US schools, and to enforce federal educational laws regarding privacy and civil rights.[4] The Department of Education does not establish schools or colleges.[5]
The Office of the Inspector General has a unit of enforcement agents who conduct investigations and raids in connection to student loan defaults and fraud.[6]
Unlike the systems of most other countries, education in the United States is highly decentralized, and the federal government and Department of Education are not heavily involved in determining curricula or educational standards (with the recent exception of the No Child Left Behind Act). This has been left to state and local school districts. The quality of educational institutions and their degrees is maintained through an informal private process known as accreditation, over which the Department of Education has no direct public jurisdictional control.
The Department's mission is: to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access.[7] Aligned with this mission of ensuring equal access to education, the Department of Education is a member of the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness,[8] and works with federal partners to ensure proper education for homeless and runaway youth in the United States.

Mission Statement

The U.S. Department of Commerce promotes job creation, economic growth, sustainable development and improved standards of living for all Americans by working in partnership with businesses, universities, communities and our nation’s workers. The department touches the daily lives of the American people in many ways, with a wide range of responsibilities in the areas of trade, economic development, technology, entrepreneurship and business development, environmental stewardship, and statistical research and analysis.
To drive U.S. competitiveness in the global marketplace, the Commerce Department works to strengthen the international economic position of the United States and facilitates global trade by opening up new markets for U.S. goods and services. Here at home, the Commerce Department promotes progressive business policies that help America’s businesses and entrepreneurs and their communities grow and succeed. Cutting-edge science and technology at the department fosters innovation, and a focus on research and development that moves quickly from the lab to the marketplace generates progress and new 21st century opportunities. No matter where businesses are in their life cycle, whether just getting off the ground or looking to expand into overseas markets, the Commerce Department is singularly focused on making U.S. companies more innovative at home and more competitive abroad, so they can create jobs.
The Commerce Department also provides effective management and monitoring of our nation’s resources and assets to support both environmental and economic health. Through critical weather monitoring, weather forecasts and resource preservation, the department protects not only public safety and security but also our oceans, coasts and marine life while assisting their economic development. Other essential operations conducted by the Commerce Department include the constitutionally mandated decennial census, which serves as the basis of America’s representative democracy, as well as the system by which businesses and innovators secure intellectual property rights. The Secretary of Commerce leads the department’s efforts, overseeing a $7.5 billion budget and nearly 47,000 employees worldwide.

The United States Department of the Interior (DOI) is the United States federal executive department of the U.S. government responsible for the management and conservation of most federal land and natural resources, and the administration of programs relating to Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, territorial affairs, and to insular areas of the United States.
The Department is administered by the United States Secretary of the Interior, who is a member of the Cabinet of the President. The current Secretary is Ken Salazar of Colorado.
Despite its name, the Department of the Interior has a different role from that of the interior ministries of other nations, which are usually responsible for functions performed in the U.S. by the Department of Homeland Security primarily and the Department of Justice secondarily.

News flash, taking the dollar off of the gold standard is the only reason the price of gold has gone up. A 1964 US Quarter was worth $0.25, today that same coin is worth $6.00. Leaving the system alone would be more profitable for someone who holds stock in precious metals. That is why I invest in them; because I don't think things will get better.
