I am not analylzing star wars, I am correlating it to our current political climate. There's too much fear and too little civic engagement. @allsmilez- Basic cable? Shit bro, All i got is over the air tv, internet, and Netflix (Netflix is the shizz never buying cable again)
Hey Thats what we got. Only one show I watch on Cable. And If I have to I just either buy the episode off amazon or Go to the Gym and watch it for free while i am on the treadmill

lol, I have the same thing. Digital over the air HD looks so much better than our old cable HD as well. Cable HD is super compressed. Netflix is great as well, they dont have everything, but for $8 a month u get way more than expected.

It is very importent now that the right claim FDR was wrong and that we would have done just as well without government "interference". What is strange is that they point to WWII as the final solution to the first great depression (as I believe it will now be called). What they are really saying is that government spending didn't work until government spending (WWII) worked. The right has to constantly change history because they are so often wrong about it.
FDR's "solutions" only served to deepen and lengthen the depression. To the left, the results don't seem to be important; they're seemingly more concerned that he "cared".

What will face us in the next few years may make the recession look tame by comparison.

TLDR the thread. My opinion on why Americans are afraid of Government? The Patriot Act in large part has a lot to do with it. I bet a lot of you didn't know the Patriot Act was written before 9/11 happened. Our liberties have been slowly taken away over the past number of years. People forget the Constitution was written to protect American citizens from Government; to prevent Government from becoming too powerful and controlling. The Federal Reserve and the misallocation of money, The secret societies like the Bilderberg Group, G20, and CFR who decide the fate of our country behind closed doors with the special interest in mind when making decisions. The police state that has been created.. The TSA.... The list goes on and on.

Yet, I hate those "occupiers" because they are a bunch of 20 year old fucks that are spoiled and full of ideas that their liberal colleges taught them. THEY KNOW NOTHING OF LIFE. And as I last recall, ythere's nothing wrong with me fearing for my family's welfare. Just morons like you want to blame everyone but yourself for not getting a great paying job because you never applied yourself in school. I fucked up in school, but I admit it. That's why I am where I'm at now. Liberal fucks like you want to blame society. FUCK YOU. QUIT YOUR BULLSHIT AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF. QUIT BLAMING SOCIETY YOU PIECE OF SHIT.

seriously? Fdr was not that bad... he put people to work that would have otherwise had none/starved.. the modern world is here because of the many public works projects Fdr introduced...(Hoover dam) ....
FDR was the one who starved them. Don't you remember crops being plowed under? He used force to make growers sell at a certain price. Either sell at that price or get rid of the crop.

LMAO talk about wrong. Your entire statement is incorrect. The economy during WW2 was horrible. How can you not know that? What good is a job if the people cannot purchase any quality products?
Once WW2 was over taxes were cut by 30 percent, government spending was cut by 60 percent and we came out of the depression.
Same reasons we came out of the mini depression of 1920. Government spending and taxes were cut 40 percent over 2 years time. Unemployment went from 12 percent to under 4 percent.

A lot of the middle-east has turned its back on the government and rebelled and won, yet the states have an "occupy" movement that is laughed at and doesnt really do much.

My question is, why are so many Americans afraid of government? If the 1% is truly destroying the lives on the 99%, isnt that enough to rebel against the government? Or is occupy just a lazy form of, "well at least i am doing something and I want to be peaceful while my house gets taken away from me"

its in the constitution when a gov fucks up that we have the responsibility to take it back by force. they dont have all the guns nor all the bombs. peace works for a while. but when they start fucking people up and it get serious who will be the minute man or woman. i say i will be that person.

That is still going on today
i saw a cotton field just this past week still full. when i asked about why it wasn't harvested i was told that it was but that was what was left over. this field was full of cotton, it was so much waste. but i guess cost is the issue. 99 a lb for cotton and yet left overs are something not to go back for. showed up 2 days later and a dude started using some hacker tractor to cut it down. waste along with hikes. look at produce. uhhh strawberry's weren't bad but still.
