Here is a bunch of different styles of vertical growing Cannabis and Marijuana seeds :: HomeGrown420 - Vertical Growing 101
very nice link......thanks a bunch....

Stadium Style Grows

Stadium, and Coliseum Style grows were probably the first step towards 360 degree vertical gardens. They deserve a place here as well.

This type of setup consists of rows of steps descending towards each other along the walls of your grow space. For the soil/soiless grower, this can mean something as simple as a series of wooden benches. While for a hydro grower, it can mean systems as complex as the cool PVC model pictured below(though a hydro setup could also be quite simple).

In order to deliver light properly to a stadium grow, you really need an adjust-a-wing type horizontal reflector such as the one pictured below. It is hinged, in line with the bulb. You can adjust the wings upper or down on either side to perfectly control the light to your stadium. Without an adjustable shade along these lines, it will be hard to realize any gains from a stadium grow.

A stadium style grow won't gain you as much square footage as a circular setup will, nevertheless you should get 40% more square footage(I figured that might be about average, you could gain more or less depending how you set yours up), with a lot less work, and likely it will be easier to maintain. My apologies for trying to breeze by this type of setup, Moggggys set me straight, and once I did the math, it became clear that this is a really simple way to get more out of a flat garden, without completely rebuilding your room.

like this but soil

so it looks like the consensus so far is the tube lighting in the center of the room is favored.....how hard is it to build a clear tube that would hold 2-4 1000 watt bulbs and how costly is my next question I guess??? is there something I can get at tap plastics that would withstand the heat of the bulbs?? of course I would be cooling the tube if I went this route..

I can't find them mag. If you were to just buy the tube you probably have the rest of the equipment..

I am glad someone posted info on vertical grows. I have been thinking about trying one for a long time. Well i just got my new room together and i am now doing a vertical scrog grow. I have 5 plants trained with stainless steel wire, they are placed around my 250w hps with a cool tube and carbon filter. I actually just purchased another 250w light because i was wanting to use two so i could get more yield but after setting it up like this. I have came to the conclusion that i can grow enough like this that i am not even going to hook up the second light just yet. I even have enough room for a couple more plants around this one light and they are not crowded at all. I will post a couple pics if you want to see.

not sure if the point has been brought up that when in stadium its good to spim the plants 180 degrees every 2 days to ensure even lighting...peace az

good point!!!!

however i think its a great idea to spin and rotate plants stadium/vertical grow or not!!!

my tent is vertical right now. And im also doing a stadium. I wont have air cooled lights but I will be honest, heat is real big factor. im gonna do air conditioner in mine when clones are ready, but you wanna think about heat pretty intensely with 3 1ks. and did you say bulbs running in a line across top? wouldnt that not be vertical then and your giving ceiling light?

im currently running a stadium setup
its fairly easy to do and its alot more efficient
your bulbs should be able to use vert. i use mine vert and i can use them horiz.
its best to set plants up in stadium setup when there about 1 feet-2feet tall otherwise its pointless and a waste of light

first of all you want to set up a tier system, so levels of plants
mine goes 3 levels high

i use parabolic reflectors which seem to work good until the plants on the top tier get higher than the reflector then i take the wings of so its just a small circle reflector on top of the hanging verticle light

i hang the lights right down so the socket part of the light bulb is level with the top of the top tier plants(if that makes sense lol)

you have to rotate plants everyday to get light evenly spread around all the plants . i rotate mine a quarter turn everyday i use coloured tap to mark the turns and to help keep everything organized(helps alot when working with lots of plants)

you also have to rotate the plants from bottom row to top tiers so light is more evenly distributed
my room runs pretty cool even with 4 lights
just have oscilating fans set up to move the are around the bulbs and plants helps keep it alot cooler in there
there you go dude hope that helps should cover it for stadium setup

In statium style wouldnt one side outgrow the room it has, even if you spin it 180 the branches will still stick out.. Should they all be single cola plants, if this makes sensE?

i give them a quarter turn a day and that works alot better than a 180 turn every 2 days
they dont stick out and its better with more cola's because more of the leafs get light instead of just the top few leaves meaning all your bud from top to bottom is usable
