well im on a 70 dollar budget for lights.
i want to grow 2 small plants( 1-1 1/2 ft.)
and i want a light system that will do the job with wonderful results.

ANY IDEAS ANY1?
would 80w be enough? whats the cheapest light setup i can possibly get for two plants?

i need imputs.
maybe 80w hps? idkk im clueless.
i was going to use CFL's but if you pay all the money on expensive cfls ,
you could have bought a HPS

so i want you guys to help me

thanks

well to get a ballast and reflector and bulb is going to be over 70 bucks, unless u can maybe find something at home depot for around that, or something used, but what i have set up is i bought a 3 light bulb holder, and bought 3 Y splitters, basically the Y adapter plugs into the light socket, and now u can plug in 2 bulbs into 1 socket, and i put 6 cfls in there. it probably cost me about, 55 bucks. it does about 8000 lumens. people have told me this is enough for a 1foot long by 2 1/2 foot wide by 4 foot tall room. buy some electrical wire, and at home depot they have plug adapters that u can hook up the 3 wires from the light into the socket. that will run u maybe 10 bucks at the most. so 65 bucks = 8000 or so lumens. just an idea. ill take a pic of it if ud like and post it up for u. let me know.

I have grown two plants and am now flowering perfectly fine (although many veterans on here feel I should have more light, and I agree) with two "SunBlaze" T5 HO 6500k setups ($28 each), and two very shitty wal-mart "lights of america" "grow lights" that are 17w and I am geussing around 4000k . I think the sunblazes would be fine alone, but I like the idea of supplementary light. In total I spent about $80. I found in a green house supply magazine a fully equiped ready to plug in, single unit HPS (light, ballast, and reflector) for $79. BUT, you don't want to vegg on HPS. In all honesty you will have a hard time growing on $70. As my two plants have ran me about $160 (lights, building growbox, handles, locks, etc.) Good luck, keep us updated.
