Nute burn or Nitrogen deficiensy???? or something else??

Ok here goes. Done many coco grows with no probs but this is my first time in DWC and i seem to have hit my first hurdle.

Got 8 oxypots (DWC) under 2 600's
nutrients i am using is canna hydro A + B
Temps are always between 63 and 77
ph is always between 5.2 and 6.2 as stated on nutrient bottle.

I know the above is all spot on and correct for DWC according to the many sources ive read up on before i started. If not then somebody please correct me.

This leads me to think the problem lies with Nute burn or a Nitrogen deficiency.

The cuts were rooted in root riots (the lazy mans rockwool) and then put in 4 inch rockwool cubes. Before I put them in the buckets they already had a well established root system in the cubes and some of the lower leaves were showing signs of yellowing. When i first put them in the buckets and under the 600's i started off with an ec of 0.5 (or 5 depending on your meter) to be on the safe side to avoid nute burn. The yellowing worsened gradually which made me rethink because an ec of 0.5 sureley wouldnt burn established cuts would it? This has led me to Nitrogen def so I upped the EC to 1.0 (or 10) last night.

Should the ec be higher or lower? Are my ph ranges correct? Is there anything else it could be?

Any help or advice is appreciated. If ive missed anythin off jus ask and if ive been to thorough, my bad. :)

77f is way to hot bud, gonna want temps under 70 between 60-70 is ideal to prevent leaf droopage and algae, lower the better, also plants get more oxygen. PH should be between 5.8 and 6.2, i prefer to let them fluctuate a bit. too low or too high of PH could very well be why you are having problems with deficiencies. Iam also new to the DWC but have been reading lots of info for quite some time. Hope U get er fig'd out, good luck

Also im not sure how to read ec. I just have the Tri meter with ppm, I would say a ppm of about 400 - 600 would be ideal for your stage about now but i would keep it on the low side till you get all your other stuff steadied out because they may not be getting all the nutrients they need with your system out of wack. Your stems look a bit purple or that might just be the cam?

Cheers for the responses. Don't think Temps are the issue. I've grown in those temp ranges before and not had any problems plus all the plants are not affected and the ones that are affected are showing the symptoms lower down not at the top.

Good observation on the purplish stems, your eyes do not deceive you. This was one of the reasons i came to the conclusion it was nitrogen def??? could this be the case??? Only upped the EC to 1.0 (google says 500ppm is EC 1.0 as far as i can gather) last night and dont know how long it should be to see some changes?

WTF?!?

Water temps should be between 60-70 degrees and ambient air temp 80-85. If using CO2 you can push it to 90-95 degrees. You can either use frozen water bottles to lower the reservoir temps or purchase a water chiller for $350.

I would add some CalMag to treat the N deficiency because that definitely isnt nute burn!

How about some pictures so we can 'see' what the leaves look like. I would add some CalMag
Thought my temps were ok. Pics are up top mate ^^^^^^^ :)

If it is nitrogen (looks like it) I would say your PH is to blame not your ppm . you said 5.2 - 6.2 , bump it up to around 6 and you should start seeing resuts

Cheers. Theyve only just been put in the buckets so the roots arent yet in the nute solution. You think its best to take the net pot out and give it a dip in the solution up to the roots just to give them an instant dose or jus leave them as they are and wait for the roots to find it themselves?

6.5 ph not a touch high for dwc? not doubtin jus askin cos from everythin ive read it should be around 5.8 regardless of veg or flower?
Had a bit of algae before they went in the buckets. gonna cover the cubes up when i get chance.

This plant appears to have a few problems. Judging by the looks of it I'd say your ph is out of whack. When was the last time you actually calibrated your ph pen? You definitely have an N deficiency, that seems pretty clear, but the purple stems, the brown leaf tips, the overall appearance of the plant, it all points to multiple problems which usually either means you are flat out not feeding your plant and it needs more of everything, or your ph is out and your locking out. My first move would be to calibrate the ph pen, then I'd bump the nutes up a bit. Those yellow leaves aren't going to get better, so focus your attention as you I'm sure you know, on the new growth. If the new growth looks good, things are getting better.

ive only ever used the rockwool ( 2") starter cubes in hydroton, and if i didnt see roots in 3 days or so just give it a bit of top feed with the solution to keep the rockwool from drying out..mabye someone esle can help ya there, but not too dry not too wet is usually a safe bet... lol

Also sensed some confusion, when i said your temps were too high (77) i was talking about WATER temps just to clarify.
