Hey Richard, thanks for the information. It sounds like you really got a winner..maybe i will be lucky enough to grow this Blackskull pepper jack haze strain one day. I do like my sativas alot. I have some really high hitting high quality lemon sativas in my stash right now.. Super lemon Haze and Lemon Skunk.. I would recommend both as very potent sativas to grow. lovely lemony aroma and i can stay high for hours on end from both strains from just one vape balloon..(and i medicate often) have you ever tried them?
take it easy

I think its a pretty solid strain, the last stuff was killer but the high temps I think may have tainted it a bit....so I'm really excited to see how this batch comes out with such better conditions and a longer flowering time.

Unfortunately I haven't had the pleasure of trying either of those strains but they sound delicious. I'm real fan of sativas, particularly those with fruit undertones, I prefer the headbuzz. I've had lemon "insert stereotypical weed strain here" multiple times, but in my area unless you know who grew it, you can't really be sure what the strain actually is. People come up with names all the time, like for instance just today I got my hands on some proclaimed "cheese" and I gotta say its incredibly dank, but who knows if its really cheese. I've never had legit cheese to compare it to so how do I know if its the real thing or just some dank nug some dude called the cheese.

Hey nice healthy plants mind explaining how your top drip system works I always look at the two buckets and wonder how the water gets back to the reservoir is it hard to setup that kind of grow say from parts at a local hardware store?

I don't know the exact workings of the drip system, but I know that basically the air pump pushes air into a tube that sits in the reservoir, which causes the water to flow up the tube and into the drip ring at the top. The water then drips over the hydroton, breaking up the water and and exposing it to as much oxygen as possible. This highly oxygenated water then passes through the root system of the plant as it flows back into the reservoir. This process is continuous and allows the root system to stay both aerated and saturated. So basically water in bottom bucket, hydroton in top bucket, air pushes water up to hydroton then it flows back into the bottom. Repeat.

As to making your own....I really have no idea. The waterfarm is a premade hydroponic system marketed by GH so I had no part in the making of my DWC and have no idea how to help you make your own....try looking around the forum or google it....I'm sure there are dozens of good DIYs on this, but I can't help you. I would imagine they would have everything you would need to make your own at most stores....other than the air pump and tubing which you would probably have to go to petsmart or any pet/aquarium store to buy.

:joint:Hello all,

Sorry for the nearly one month gap between my last post and this one, but I have just been extremely busy lately what with classes and the holidays, but I finally got a chance to take some pictures today. She is just over 7 weeks into flowering and it looks like another 2 weeks to go should do the trick. The temps have still been a bit of an issue but not enough to harm the plant in anyway, and in fact the large gap between day and night temps has really given the buds a nice deep purple color.....it looks pretty awesome. The smell is fantastic and after about ten minutes working with the plant today my hands were covered in resin. She looks great....so without further time wasted....here are the pics

enjoy:hump:

:leaf:Hello all,

So its now been just over 8 weeks in flower and all is well. I only gave the plant a half dose of nutrients today to start winding things down. I plan on chopping sometime late next week probably thursday or Friday. I'm gonna empty the res and add just plain distilled water starting on monday or tuesday to flush her and then its all over.

Here are the new pics....enjoy

:bigjoint:Hello All,

Today is a great day, because last night was harvest night...and the bud is awesome. This shit is twice as dense as my nugget that I got last time, and I have a lot more of it. Super crystally and the smell is fantastic. Same smell as the last go around, sweet in air, but if you touch the buds and smell your finger its got a spicy diesel like aroma. And the resin from this plant is super potent, it actually burns your tongue if you lick your fingers. I'm very pleased. I would have ideally liked to have harvested all the top buds and left the lower ones for about another week but I just don't have time.

I was going to just dry the bud in its tent, but I decided not to and just went with a closet instead. I'm really short on time right now with finals and what not so I didn't feel like hanging all of the hundred of buds I have, so I hung up about 35 of the largest buds to air dry in a closet, and the remaining medium and small buds are drying in a large cardboard box. Also, I normally do all of my trimming the same day as harvest prior to drying, but this time I decided to only trim off the large fan leaves and any large sugar leaves just to save time. I plan on doing the final trimming after drying this go around. So here are the pictures of the skeleton left after harvest....This was the first time I had been able to see my roots in over 12 weeks, and they were a little bit browner than I'd like to see so I've noted the reservoir as a definite area of possible improvement next time. This bitch was too big to cut with scissors so we had to use a machete:-P.

All the cuttings from the harvest filled an entire paper grocery bag from Outback...and basically took up my entire desk.....you can really see the contrast between the buds that purpled and the ones that remained bright green. It really gives this bud a neat look. The purple color was caused by high day/night temperature variances. So the top nuggets turned a nice purple and the lower nuggets remained lime green.

These are the larger buds that I decided to hang to dry...world's dankest air freshener
View attachment 1932957View attachment 1932959View attachment 1932961View attachment 1932958

And these are all of the smaller nuggets or ones that just didn't have enough branch on them to hang. The box is 4 feet long by 8 inches wide...so much nugget!
View attachment 1932947View attachment 1932948View attachment 1932949

These are all of the little non-smokeable popcorn nuggets and any sugar leaf that I got from trimming. Keep in mind that I didn't actually trim the buds I just cut off the larger leaves, so this is only the larger leaves that had trichromes or and little fluffy nugs. I'll have a whole lot more once I actually trim...and when I do...its brownie time. Last go around I got 4 oz dry weight and made 1 batch of brownies from the trim...tooo strong. I liked it but some people complained, so I think 2-3 batches would have been better. This harvest looks to be about double the size, so I'm thinking 4-5 trays of brownies would be good.
View attachment 1932954View attachment 1932955

And here are some actual bud shots. This is just a nice little nugget I picked out from the cardboard dry box. These first two pictures are of the nug before trimming....
View attachment 1932951View attachment 1932950

....and these next two pictures are after I trimmed the nug, so you can get an idea of what the trimmed product would look like. I really like the light purple, its not pervasive but it really gives the nugget a nice look. View attachment 1932952View attachment 1932953

unfortunately I don't have a scale at the moment so there will be no wet weight, which means no real estimate on dry weight. But just judging by the amount compared to my last harvest, I would guess its around 8 oz, give or take about an ounce. Either way I'm more than happy. Just stay tuned and I'll be back in about a week to post dry weight and final nug shots...plus a detailed smoke report. I would like to thank all of the rollituppers who followed this grow and who asked questions or offered advice....much appreciated

-PEACE-

I don't know why but for me none of the pictures I just posted show up in the actual post, they are only in the attachments section...this happened on my last post too, then it was fixed somehow today....but now its happened again, so hopefully it will correct itself again. Weird
