Ok. I been vegging for about 4 weeks now. I got these as clones at 5" tall in a 8 oz plastic cup. Strains are 2-Afghani, 1-Oregon Grape, 1-Moby Dick. I also have a God bud plant(got it with root aphids, it barely made it) and a Maui Wowie(was a donation but was root bound). Keeping the God and the Maui plants for mothers. Gonna take some clones of the grape, afghan, and moby as well before Flowering. Legal Grow btw.....6 plants soon to be 12 thanks to another patient seeing me progress and wanting me to handle his babies. In any case. Heres my specs:

1,000 HPS in a standard sun-grow? reflector. This has a switchable ballast and I'll be buying a metal halide 1,000 watt next crop for veg.

8 x 10 space with 7' ceilings. Have a 6" air duct in and a 6" airduct out with a vortex fan/adj switch. Lights and Fan are on timer. Room is completely sealed so when the exhaust fan kiks in, the intake vent automatically sucks fresh air in. Humidity stays around 40-58 and temps between 64 and 77. Light is about 16" above. Walls are painted white(soon to be upgrading to reflective sheets).

I use B.U.D dirt.(Best Urban Dirt). It's a shotgun flavor with a premium for the botton half and a normal for the top half. I use 3/4 and 1/4" gravel for 3-4" on the bottom of my 5 gall home depot buckets. Supposedly peaple are saying no nutes are necessary for this dirt throughout the cycle. I'm leary tho.

I water with tap water left out at room temp for 48+ hours.

I have not fed any nutes yet, but I'm about to go get a good Veg nute and sok it to em for another week or two before flowering. I want 6 foot'rs. Then I'll get my flowering nutes and go 12/12.

Planning on sticking to the feeding schedule for the nutes I buy. Got my hany dandy troubleshooter for any prob's. I'm harvesting 4 plants and I want 2 lbs. I'm making myself be very patient so I'll wait it out if I have to!


First grow and feeling great!


PS. The most recent photo where their droopy is the end of the day cycle and me spraying them generously. I give em a little shower everynight for extra luv!



Any idea's or tips would be great. I did experiment with tie'n down. It did boost growth on the bottom, but, I'ma go el`naturele my first time I decided.

In the second pic, theres a scrawny little chick in the far bak...real tall..she's my maui wowie......another little lady in the back is the god.....the 4 biggest are afghani, mobi dick, and oregon grape....


o....and the white stuff is string...i use it for my ducting with a staple gun....works quite well!

you don't need to spritz them down anymore at this point, just keep your humidity around 65% at this point(get a small humidifier), and slowly drop it down to under 40% as you get towards the end of flowering :)

they look good! pix do look droppy...could be lack of water or too much. but i see 1 fan....i use 3 + an air purifier that filters anything 2microns and larger. when u use HID's like HPS &MH....especially 1,000watters heat will build up, u might want to get another fan. but they look good and nothing major.. keep up the good work.

This is taken a minute ago at the end of my light cycle. The leaves point straight up and are cupped in the morning until about noon. Quite the sight to see. I havent never grown anything before and it's going to kill me to cut these up. They feel like babies to me!!!!

I'ma veg for another 1' of height. I'm estimating 2 weeks tops the way they grow. I'll have 4 plants at harvest and I'm "HOPING" for 2-3 pounds. I'll flower for 10+ weeks if I have to, but by the end of 2 more weeks of veg and 10 weeks flower, these babies gonna be monsters. LOTS of undergrowth. Got seperate bottom colas making their way up top. One of the tallest has 5 main colas on top due to a gnat eating off a top(im actually thankfull!!!!). If I get a pound I'll be happy, but the way these been growing, its hard to say. In any case, It has been a great experience as I've never grown anything in my life(except kids, I got 6). I must say, it's going to be hard cutting these down(/me wipes a tear).

BTW. If not said before it's being said now. Totally legal grow within my awesome state. F the FEDS and they corrupt ways!!! Kinda funny how the FED says its not med's, yet they give it to a 80 year old woman who has a FED medical marijuana card. I read an article about a lady in oregon that got busted and gave the popo a FED marijuana card. The state popo didnt believe it and made some calls. It's doin good. Not as tall as my moby dick and afghans. Those plants are BUSHES. Having some problems with persperation on the leaves when my lights kick on though!
