I'm mad as hell and not taking it anymore. Those greedy bastards need to be wiped out.
I did some research. It takes a salary of about $350,000 to be a 1% club member. So if you assume a person can live on $50,000 a year comfortably, then over 20 years ( life time work) a person investing can make between $154,000-$187,000( $74-$90 per hour), assuming a 7-10% return. Those are your capitalist cronies.

Those are just some of the potential assholes.

My high school had 3,000 students when I graduated. The valedictorian and salutatorian should have been the first ones to be picked off since they had the highest chance to be the a 1% leech? Forget the fact they spent four years not going out partying and smoking weed. Also forget about the ten plus years of studying, mcat, usmle and residency. It's really all about how they can screw you over. It's all a personal vendetta.

If being the 1% is so awesome, why are all those celebrities, directors, professional athletes, musicians and authors so unhappy?

So no offense, but to you occupy folks, fuck you!

And that's exactly why you won't ever be one. Unless you become a super star celebrity or athlete, making you part of the 0.001%. You wouldn't have the self control to let the money make you the money to be a 1%. Seriously you all think all those 3,125,601 are trust fund Paris Hilton types and didn't spend all their time on the worthless pursuit of money?

Nah
Most of them Are Senator Ron Johnson Types who married into wealth and then figured out ways to steal more money from the People that support them

Mr Johnson is a freshman Senator renting a Million Dollar House in DC
Owned by the Ron and Jane Johnson Endowment fund

Im sorry but Im not sure i'm following you...

How do you assume that from 50000 a year you can invest and make 180000 or something?

Whats wrong with those previous professions?

And what does this have to do with the occupy people?

You dont have any problem with the huge disparity of wealth that exists?

Your research is quite a bit off, the 1% is 700K or more a year, it doesn't include any of the professions you listed, including myself, a systems administrator (payed better then network administrators at my company), I live check to check and have a 2 bedroom house in the ghetto. Can't invest shit, it all goes straight to bills.

I really hate to go there but I want to say your like 20 and live with yer mum, because ~50K a year you have no money to invest these days.

I think your right though actually in one sense, the occupy people don't really understand it. The 1% is actually the banking elite which is quite less than 1% probably, the ones that control everything, 1999 brought the repeal of glass steagal, 2010 brought us superpacs allowing corporate interest to funnel unlimited money into politics giving them ultimate power. That is what Occupy is about, the financial crisis, and the fact that corporations now have more rights then people. Its not about taxes or income or class warefare as some think, its about conmen.

Deprave, if you live off $50,000. You make between $154,000 to $187,000. That leaves your investment payment at $104,000 to $137,000. You'd end up after 20 years about $6,000,000, assuming 7% historical stock market return and a maximum of about 10% is not unheard of. Unless you got insider trading, $50,000 salary won't make $154k to $187k. Besides, $187k is not the $350k I quoted.

I'm willing to trade a pre-bound and gagged hooker from my basement and a half empty bag of Doritos for a year of Charlie Sheen's life, but not five of mine lol

What are you even talking about? I make 60k a year and my bills are like 50k(before taxes), that leaves 10k for food and clothes and stuff....Not seeing myself making any investments...especially not risky enough to try and gamble it away for a chance at scoring 10%...lol...gambling is for people who can afford to do it...I don't have even 1k laying around to buy some stocks...ever...

If this was 1970 or something Id be middle class...but no its 2011 and I'm poor...not po or poo but poor...I have 6 years education and worked since I was 15 AND I grow weed. Ive never takin out a loan ever or lived above my means....booo hooo yeah whatever...I love life but to say its fair its ridiculous..its really not fair at all....life isn't fair yea I got it whatever...I just grind it out protecting 10% of the Internet from chinaman and working harder then I did when I worked in the emergency room for less money..its all good

Deprave,
How else can I put this. If your salary range is $154,000 to $187,000. $50,000 living expenses. Leaves you with $104,000 to $137,000 to invest, respectively.

Do you even know how future value with payments work?

Exact amount invested to reach $343,927 AGI over 20 years.

Payment of $143,450
ROI of 7% ( historical stock return)
20 payment periods (years)
Future value $5,878,540
$50,000 of $193,450 salary for 20 years, $1,000,000
Total agi, $6,878,540, over 20 years.

I calculated a bit wrong. So, whatever. I do international marketing consulting, not return on investment. My calculating is a bit rusty.

$343,927 salary for 20 years, $6,878,540.

canna,
AMERICA , not some other country. AMERICA, where you can study, work hard, & put your knowledge to work for you ANY way you see fit. If you want to waste your life & make a small amount of money or just be thrifty, IT IS YOUR RIGHT. If you are smart enough to make a lot of money. IT IS YOUR RIGHT.
If you are unable to make your self rich you shouldn't hate those that are succesful. Do you really think you are owed money from succesful people ? Or the government should GIVE you what you don't earn yourself ? Why does a lot of the newer generation think they are owed & have rights to others hard work?

You seem a bit irrational, eh ?

You would have NO America without capitolism. Our country is based & thrives on it. When we have a leader that is not a supporter of capitolism then you have major problems with employment opportunities & the health of our nation. Foolishly spending money when you have to borrow it to spend it is just another way for socialist to bankrupt us all.
