Do you really need 2700 Kelvin

Just started 12/12/of my 2nd grow and wondering how important is it to have 2700k light. I use CFLS and have more 6500K than 2700k. Can I flower with mostly 6500K?

2700k is the light spectrum the plants pick up during flowering so if you didnt have them your plants wont flower nicely

you should use 5700k for veg and 2700k for flowering. the good thing about CFLs is that they are cheap, just pick up a few 30-40 watters at home depot or amazon.

yes u can flower with 6500k....
2700k will promote more bud production
6500k will promote more resin production
hope that helps.....

Hate to reveal my stupidity but more does more resin mean better weed?

Yeah.....I guess you could say that
Its best to mix it up....
there are several things you can do to increase resin production....
like uv exposure, low humidity, and water deprivation.....

Plants will flower under either spectrum, but the orange glow of the 2700K is preferable during this phase. However, a mixture (60/30) of both 2700K and 6500K is optimal.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking. Need more light fixtures anyway. 3 plants and 3 23 watt daylight, 5000k and they haven't done too bad for first grow and bag seed. Will get 2700K and 6500K and 3 more fixtures. Not overkill for 3 plants?

Being flourescent the high K's are better than the low, imo. T5's arn't much difference and i just put one of my girls under two 24" 6400k and she's lovin it. So it's new to me, hence more K's is totally ok for flor's. Don't know about potentcy or resin production yet. I got a male in the same room but seperated, should get the juices flowing.

Yep you want both red/ blue 60/40 during flower and the opposite during veg. Also during flower red will make it stretch and blue will keep it short and the opposite during veg

I use cfl's for my moms and t5 's with aqaurium coral reef bulbs for veg and flower. they produce a much fuller spectrum and have very high par and plenty of uv a and infrared light too,
