Leaves curled up.. probably noob paranoia....

the ends of the leaves on one of my plant seems to be curling up, i notced it about a week ago but now just about all the leaves are. i looked online and most sites said it was a Magnesium deficiency but there is no discoloeration. am i just paranoid? i'd post pics but my camera sucks... oh ph is normal 6.0, any ideas?

two 40 watt t12's bout a half inch above plants.. actually that plants shorter than the rest maybe an inch below...

hmmmm....that shudnt generate so much heat to affect ure plants...r they really hot at any stage?
sorry i can't be more helpful i haven't had the amount of experience needed to be able to diagnose a problem easily...

naw it doesn't ever get over 77 degrees and my camera's way fuzzy... i'll have to ride it out and see.. the only other thing i noticed was a soggy smell from that room when i got home so i backed off on watering them to let em dry a little extra.. but all the plants look good except the one, even it doesn't look bad just different... thanks for all your help sorry i can't get any pics

ok the pics are kinda fuzzy but not too bad..... the the spots that look kinda yellow are the bottoms of the leaves where they folded over...

When the leaves fringes stand up like that it means the leaf is trying to dissipate as much moisture as possible, but is unable to. This can be caused by toxic salt buildup, lack of water or heat stress. I had the same problem and i flushed my plants today and it has cleared it up. I am giving them fresh nutes tomorrow.

yeah i have them in five gallon pots is it going to be safe to give em so much water it runs out the bottom??? shes only 6 inches talls.... poor little gal...

I grow hydro so i am not too sure, but if the nutes are locking out then you are going to have problems anyway. If you are growing in a soil less mix you should flush with flushing solution 2X the volume of your pots. So about 10 gallons should be right. I really don't think that flushing should hurt your plant though.

hmm..... i should of said i was growing in dirt, my bad. any way i gave her a shit ton of water yesterday and she's not lookin better (but not worse just the same), but the leaves on top look fine, is it just a matter of time before they curl up??? god just come over with a flame thrower and finish em all of for me it'd be more humane to the plants than leavin em in my care...

If you flushed it should be OK. Make sure your temps are not too hot and your lights are not too close to the top of the plants. Make sure your pH is good.

Don't beat yourself up too bad Damn. We all learn as we go along. Just keep doing your best, listen to the suggestions above and you will figure it out. My first grow was horrible, small buds, droopy leaves from overwatering. Hang in there...peace.

what kind of soil. i grow hydro. and had the same problem. realized that it was all due to ph of water which effects nutrient uptake. i was using cheap method to mesured ph. switched to a meter, and all those problems went away.

i ask about soil because i have 1 plant i rescued from a friend that was in soil. and i could never get the ph below 7. i went back and asked him what kind of soil he used. it was miracle grow time release shit. i repotted and all is good. as a matter of fact its budding now. check out my grow in my sig

yeah i'm using mg for my first and my ph stays at 6-6.5(6.5 recently)... but i'm using the cheap walmart testers i can't find a diggy meter in town i want one but may have to order it. 7 of 8 look good an i'm glad only one has this problem but i will most likely try peat moss and worm casings next time...

well i have flushed this plant and moved the lights back and i opened the second door to the closet.... results: temp drop to 72-75 plants stretchd to reach light in only 6 hours (full inch i ws damn impressed) and now the top fringes are curling to!! would re-poting into fresh soil help or flushing again?? this plant is only 23 days old and i've held off on the nutes till i get this fixed.. is that a good idea or should i give her a bit-o nutes to see what happens? the bottom leaves are not doing this.. thanks again
