How did you know it was a defect in the digital ballast that caused the bulb to explode? I've never heard of one instance of digital ballasts causing bulbs to explode, but seeing as you're such an expert on warranties, no doubt you have plenty of verifiable examples to show us.

The reason you have not heard about the bulbs blowing up is because you obviously have not read the insurance claims. It was not only the Sylvania bulbs which exploded and it was not only limited to one instance.

How about answering your claims about the fucking warrantys for starters or would you like to ask more questions and not admit you fucked up pretending to know when you are talking out of your ass ?

Answer how the warrantys are the same and then tell me why they are not the same and the reasoning and the message sent to the market place.

The grease on your skin will cause them to crack or burst under the right conditions. It does not matter the manufacturer so your comment of pussy bulbs were basically made by someone who posts like a pussy.

CFL's are for cunt losers so I guess it fits you to a TEE - enjoy.

If you are going to use an extention cord at any time (and this applies to the reason for such warnings.) You need to use a high quality preferrably the thick orange extension cords they use for construction sites. Your extension cord MUST HAVE A GROUND plug one into your wall and plug the other into a GROUNDED powerstrip or power cleaner. If there is a surge of electricity or any other case which would spark an electrical fire it will happen inside the powerstrip which is BUILT to destroy its self rather than the equipment behind it (I've also been in a few bands and we pull a shit ton more wattage than your silly lights) The point of a limiter or regulater on the other side of your ballast is to regulate the max power that can be sent through the line to your light (TIP: This stops the digital defect of allowing more power to pass through the line and pop your bulb.)

Electronics 101.

Dont use those dinky ass white entension coords for anything more than a desk lamp because thats all they are meant for.

Lumatek offer a 5 year warranty on their ballast. Most magnetic coil ballasts are standard 2 year warranties. According to you, electronic ballasts are so unreliable they're likely to explode and burn your house down.

Manufacturers do not offer 5 year warranties on products that are unreliable and likely to go wrong.

Long warranties are offered on products that offer the longest reliability, otherwise it would be pretty bad business practice would it not?

I stated that electronic ballasts would have the same warranties as magnetic coil ones, I was wrong -some of them have MUCH LONGER warranties, thus supporting what I said ablout electronic ballast reliability.

I really don't see how you can claim that a longer warranty on an electronic ballast in comparison to a magnetic coil one can support what you're saying in the slightest.

No doubt you'll have some wried and wonderful reason for why though.

You do not know shit about putting a limiter on the ballast side. The bulbs are designed with their own engineered limiters. Next, why spend more money on another component that the fucking ballast is suppose to control. That is fucking ignorant to even suggest.

Ballasts have timing mechanisms which are sensitive to distance for the electrical impulses to travel. It is NEVER advised, I do not give a fuck what guage extension cord you use...never ever ever use extension cords on a ballast. Never. I repeat one more fucking time....never.

And the reason I didn't post on the extension cord thing is because you CAN use an extension cord you brainless FUCK!! Do you think that when you run wire inside a building that every run is less than 50'?? Now there are simple formulas out there that will give you the exact voltage drop on each size of wire (AWG). As long as the size of wire is big enough for the load of the appliance (with the voltage drop of the length of wire added in) you will be OK! And as far as electronic ballasts go, they usually draw an amazingly LOW current for the amount of light that they produce.

Now I just looked back at most of the posts and I still don't see where you said that the ballasts blew the lamp up. Maybe I'm blind along with brainless.

As long as the size of wire is big enough for the load of the appliance (with the voltage drop of the length of wire added in) you will be OK!

One more time, NEVER ... I REPEAT NEVER...use extension cord wiring and I do not give a fuck what the AWG of the wires may be. It could be 1/O wire and still you do not get it. The length of the power cord is engineered for the ballast. One more time. Say it with me. The length of the Power cord is engineered for the ballast.

It has nothing to do with the 50' rule for upsizing wire for voltage drops. You think you have the answer but you are not quite there yet. I know about that rule and also know 14 awg is the smallest copper wire you can run on a 15 amp breaker. 12 awg if it is aluminum. That is simple simon stuff.

Again, the length of the power cord is engineered for the ballast.

Oh and since that stupid fuck, the commercial electrcian (RUExperienced) did not catch your stupid fucked up comment on extention cords - that is fucking STUPID to put any ballast on an extention cord. The ballast is rated for so many feet of wire and is calculated by someone a lot smarter than your stupid ass or RUExperienced. NEVER use extension cords on a ballast. Your comment about the ballast being rated for length of electricity cord is just so rediculous, wouldnt this then mean that a timer is a no no, maybe they hadn't accounted for the size of the timer, or what about when you get a 6 way socket with a contactor maybe they didnt account for that either.

Call any reputable ballast manufacturer right now and speak to a tech and post the phone number and who you spoke to and what he tells you.

If you have the balls, you will do it so you get educated as well.
