I'm like CSI for faking your piss test.
awesome quote. Congrats on the job, I used QuickFix for a pre and am starting on monday as well, big hand-shattering high five all around.

shwag, I know what you mean about supercropping in flower. I hate to have to do it, but I got this damn Haze right now that just stretches to damn ceiling if I don't crop it or tie it down. Really fuckin' up my canopy.

I will never do a haze again lol. I did an SSH and... Yeah f$&k that lol. I'm vegging one now and I have no idea why because I'm not going to flower it. Maybe I will trade a friend for something tasty. Gave a SSH to a friend with a greenhouse and the effer was 14 feet tall last I knew. Still going, last one to be harvested. I supercropped the piss out of it before I gave it to him so its probably a GD bush too.

Hey guys, Im sure this is somewhere deep in this thread, but I dont have a ton of time right now, but do you guys do this instead of topping or fimming or do you guys do it with? Sorry if its a dumb question.

Not dumb at all, I top pretty regularly while using LST at the same time. They all really go hand in hand. I like to top branches right after I do a heavy supercrop on a mature plant to get the new shoots working. Lots of medium sized buds is what I'm after instead of one monster and whatever else comes along.

Hey man, excellent results with the supercropping. I'm impressed. I've been using bending and LST, with good results, but not that good, so i want to give cropping a shot. I've done it before, but never to that extent, and have to say, I love the finished heigth of your plants, and the width.(not to mention the yield.lol) I just have one question for ya.....

....Approximately how long does it take to veg them, and have them ready for flowering, using your method?

Had some Hash Plant Haze tall asses bring the little black Helo's to my house early 2009-2010.I'm sticking to my Indica.

Thank you Jaws! You know... I would love to answer that question but I don't really keep track of my veg times. I run more strains than I have room for and I intentionally root bind my plants at times to slow their growth. I would say experiment with them a bit to find what works for you. I will say that I prefer to use a shorter veg compared to a longer one.... I'm growing them far too large right now as a bottle neck (small flower box) has forced me to over veg them. Under T5 I would say 4-6 weeks if I had to guess. Tall enough to barely tie them down to the bucket is where I like to do it. Now I have shrubs with excessive undergrowth and diameter. Will get back down to business this winter... Need to get rid of some strains!

Wow what a great thread! I've already been experimenting with SCing a little on my first grow, just adjusting a few colas to even out the canopy height, and it's definitely an awesome solution!

But really this thread is great because of the awesome comradery, storytelling, and attitudes of mutual respect! You guys are the shit! :joint:

Thanks Altar, we like to have fun here lol. Stick around and please share some pics of your cropping whenever you have the chance :D Thread has been quiet for quite a while so I'm going to try to get some pics tomorrow and show what I've got cookin' under my 600 all cropped out about it.

Cool, I will definitely get some shots for ya. I don't know if I "super" cropped, as I only bent them far enough to even out the canopy, not all the way over, hehe. :)

Ohhhh, could use a bong rip. ;) I'm actually speed-drying a few little samplers from a plant to.. er.. "test".. haha. VERY small pieces. Not even sure it's gonna do anything. What ever though. I'm getting impatient! Still got a couple weeks left on these babies... getting SO close though, errrgh.

Pics shortly!

Hey guys... here a few babies I super cropped today. Gotta break 'em in early if I'm going to do this instead of LST :D FUCK LST at this point... these plants can TAKE the stress, so why NOT? LSTing is really time consuming by comparison, and it's like a game of MacGuyver trying to figure out how and where to secure each tie-down!

Babies cropped today... I'll put up some new pics when they recover:

And here is one of my adults, where I used a lot of supercropping to control canopy height:

P1050205.jpgP1050206.jpg
P1050207.jpg

Here are some shots of some juicy mid-stem buds that would not have had the opportunity to develop as much without the extra light exposure from supercropping the tops:

P1050210.jpg
P1050213.jpgP1050212.jpg

Here is a cool dual-bud that was shorter and would not have gotten much light from my T5s if I had not supercropped the others to match height!!:

P1050215.jpg

This shot shows the sub-buds of a NON-cropped cola on the same plant... you can see that the lower buds are significantly less developed than the others up there! From now on I am SC'ing everything from the beginning!:

P1050218.jpg

And again, here is an overhead of a nice cropped cola so you can see all the lower buds that were opened up to the light because of the supercropping!!:

P1050222.jpg

Finally, for kicks, I decided to supercrop two of my solo cup 12/12 from clones that are already flowering. They've been flowering for about two weeks:

Oh hell, here's an encore... one more shot of the heavily cropped lady from above in her natural environment with her sisters behind her:

Hope you guys like! This is my first grow, so I wanted to experiment with some different training techniques! I started by LSTing them all heavily, but I found it hard to keep the canopy even efficiently, so I eventually switched to Supercropping at the beginning of flowering. Now, I think Supercropping will be my primary training method, with maybe just a little LSTing here and there if needed.

Cheers all!
