Newbie's outdoor grow with pics

This is my first grow on the roof of my house in Mexico. These were from seeds from a nice mild bag that I had. I assume it was just some local weed. These plants are six weeks old and they started to bud after 4 weeks. When they started to bud they stopped growing and I haven't seen much development in the past two weeks at all. They also have some white powder on the leaves and i don't know if it's a disease or not. Please take a look at the photos and post your feedback. It seems like they developed really quickly then stalled. I've started some new seeds that were give to me and described as "primo." If they sprout, any experience from this first batch will be very helpful. I want to do all my growing outside.

i think you prob bottomed out the roots. a bigger container with more depth will get them going again... that 5 gal bucket on the left should hold one plant and give it enough room for a decent yeild.

Does anybody know what the white stuff on the leaves is? Wherever there is white on the top there are tiny black dots on the underside. I suspect something quite insidious. I'm going to transplant these into 5 gal buckets to give the roots more room. Thnx.

Well, I suspect fungus and pests. You'll need to spray them with a Neem Oil solution to hopefully take care of both problems.

I've looked here in Mexico for the Neem Oil and I can't seem to find it. it may take a while, or I'll have to import it from the States. in the meantime I need to kill these pests. A friend is saving her cig butts for me, she says putting them in water and spraying that on the plants will help. I've heard of a weak solution of dishwasher detergent. I would prefer to avoid chemicals. Any advice on natural insecticides would be appreciated until I can get the Neem Oil. Thanks.

I transplanted into a 5 gallon bucket and they've recovered. I thought it was a disaster when I did it, but they bounced back.

OK, I've found the recipe for "tobacco-tea" in the forum. I'll try that. Please pardon my lazy post. I'll keep looking for the Neem. I need a natural bug juice for my ankles, the skeeters love my feet.

dish-soap is not bad on lice but you can easily overdo on it and kill your plant as well. try the tobacco-tea first, fist in a weak solution which looks slightly yellowish if that won't help with in a week go to 3/4 strength and after 2-3days then to full. since you are in Mexico i don't know how tough your bugs are, but normally a 1/4 solutions kills all bugs off;) i only use full strength for aimed attacks and rinse it of later since it can burn a bit the leaves if you let it sit under light...:-?

Here are some updated pics. The roots of the two plants were too intertwined to seperate so I put them both in a 5 gal. bucket. The larger fan leaves got attacked by pests pretty bad and were yellowed. I've been spraying it with tobacco tea and I've clipped the pesty yellow fan leaves. The new leaves are coming in clean so I think the tea is doing the trick. I've got about 1/3 red hairs and some really nice crystals are starting to form on the buds. I'm waiting for 2/3 red hair. Maybe 1 or 2 more weeks. I'm thinking of chopping the small plant down to the dirt but leaving 1/3 of the larger plant to regenerate. Thanks for all the help. I think the harvest will be as much fun as the grow!

I started them right around the first of the year in January. They flowered really quick. I imagine it's because as soon as they came up the days were getting shorter (totally outside from seed) and they quickly went into flower mode. I'm planning to cut the top bud soon, next week, and carefully cut the lower buds off as they mature, leaving the green growth to regenerate.

I snipped the top of the bud off the little guy, let it dry and smoked it. It was some of the sweetest, cleanest smoke I've ever had. I remember the bag it came from was really nice but that little bud seemed soooo much nicer. I'm hoping I can keep this plant budding and regenerating year round.

It must have been root bound as they should have double or trippled in size when going from veg to flower.Should grab a clone or 2 if you can still for next grow.Get the neem online maybe even ebay.
