I wanna do a new grow in coco coir what is the most popular brand name or whatever. I don't know where to start. I'm thinking it's like growing in rock wool? Treat the coco just like dirt watering when lightweight but ph'ed the water to hydro. Right? Thank you for yo help and knowledge ~

TBH i dont think it matters what brand you choose. I use the cheap coco blocks which need rehydrating as they come in compressed blocks and this works as well as popular brands such as canna, plus its a third of the price of the leading brands. Keep your PH around 6.0 and feed with every watering, its a simple as that, cocos a great medium.

jimmy's right ...doesn't matter a lot.
I am lazy though so I buy it loose in a bag. IMO Canna and B'Cuzz are both very good products

I was trying to remember that brand B'cuzz, yeah thats good stuff from what i read/seen. I use a fair bit of coco so blocks suit me, its easy to store but does require a bit of extra work to get it ready. I add some trichoderma to mine as canna has it already and have no probs. If your growing a few plants then the ready made stuff might be the way to go but for larger grows blocks are easier on the pockets.

congratulations! you made the right choice :)

any brand of coco coir is good, but always wash it well before use, and charge it with a bit of nutrients too.

read a bit about coco peat, they say it's good too.

So you gotta rinse it out, should I soak it like I would my rock wool in 5.5 with a final flush with 5.8-6.0 ph'ed
with a nutrient charge depending on the size or sage of the plant. I can't wait I'll be there when their doors open~

I have grow in rock wool and ffof sunshine mix 4 for about 5 years just never found the one!

so yeah this will be much better than rockwool. rockwool kinda sucks from what i've gathered. and yeah you can soak it, or wash it, either way it gets flushed, charged and phed pretty easily. Two things troubling me about coco is germination - I like to germ where I grow, and coco is just a bit problematic with this, though I'm sure once I dial it in I'll be good. But for the moment if you have a working solution for germinating or cloning (haven't tried that yet) up to veg - go ahead and use it and then switch to coco.

I've also heard it gets even better when re-used.

Yo I usually germinate in rock wool it's good for the germination of the seeds but not for the whole grow.
This is root bound rock wool 1st week flowering and root bound in a 5 gallon pots of rock wool~It's now on the six week of flowering probably root bound in the 7 gallon pot the classic 2800. So use rock wool the first week then transplant to coco, sounds great~ Easy Weedzie"
