Why do different clones behave differently?

I'm a new grower. On Sunday I started off with 5 pineapple express and 7 skywalker clones.

Here is the funny thing. I am assuming that these clones come from 2 mommies. Therefore I also am assuming that each strain's clones will behave similarly.

Now it is day 4. Some of the clones of both strains have started to look beautiful with new growth and big healthy leaves. Oddly, 1/3 of the clones from both strains have slow starter clones. I'm watching them. I don't know if they are going to take hold or not...there is a little growth but they look weak and flimsy.

If the clones all came from the same mother of the strain with about the same quality of cutting, how come some do much much better than others. I have the same feeding, watering, lighting, temperature, soil, and air flow.

This is no biggie, I will be okay if I lose a couple--more space in my tent for them to grow out. I was just curious...I always thought clone meant they'd perform the same way. I would have expected this from seeds.

There might be some variance between clones in the areas of appearance and growth pattern if they came from different parts of the mother plant. But I've found that they lose their differences and their appearance evens out when the plants mature.

You are "assuming" alot.

Maybe you should assume each plant came from a different mother and it all makes sence.
Another mystery solved with sarcasm...:)

Just messing with you, but if you bought them from a dispensery, they could have... I took 48 clones lastnight from 5 different mothers. (not that I supply a dispensery, I just know when you do a larger volume of cuttings, you tend to keep several mothers around. When I was only taking like 12 at a time, I would only take one or two clones from each plant when I lollipop them. So again, they could have each came from different plants - that could be something to think about.

As far as clones from the same plant growing differently, it does depend on the part of the plant that the clone was taken from - as already mentioned right up there ^^ by lordjin.. have a good one

You know, I hadn't even thought of different places on the plant, nor did I really consider the possibility of different mothers. I'm also thinking that some of the clones might have been further along in root development. It was just weird...In only 4 days I have some plants that are really starting to grow. I'll just wait and see. Thanks for entertaining my question.

Well in all my time growing ganja, I have to say that just when I thought I had things figured out, the plants show me something new and weird. It's an amazing hobby... and one that continues to surprise even old growers like me.
