Germinating in Soil

Hi, Basically i got a bag of automazar seeds an unheated propogator and coco pellets, i soaked the pellets, squeezed off the excess water, placed the seeds in the soil, covered them with a bit of the soil and placed them in the propogator in my boiler room but the thing is its been 5 days and no sign of them sprouting. I was expecting it to take 7-10 days but my friend said his same seeds were under lights at this stage after sprouting on day 2! Have i done something wrong, should i just be patient or like my m8 says should i remove them and do the paper towel method cos ive nothing to lose now ?

any help appreciated!!!

Dude I have done both methods. I believe that the soil method is easier. Also don't worry they take their sweet time. It can take awhile depending on temps and how far you burried the suckers. So don't get to excited just be patient, it is the key to all things.

cheers man, thats exactly what i thought and hoped, I Was following my "expert" friends grow plan which was pretty much germinate, stick under lights for 18 then 12hrs, water and harvest, sounded easy but just reading this site the last few days its alot more complicated so im a bit nervous now in case i do wrong or maybe im just on a paranoid buzz!!!!

Seeds need warmth and moisture to germ. I would check on the seeds to make sure they didn't pop then dry out. If they're still good then give em another five days. IMHO

thanks man, my boiler room is pretty warm and the guy in the growshop told me that the pellets would not need water or nutrients after initial soaking til the 1st week under the cfl so should i just leave them or should i be watering them?

hey, patience won out, yesterday 6 of 7 seeds sprouted :-P so put them under a 125 watt grow cfl, today they are at least 2 inches!! can anyone tell me how much i should water them? been watering each one around 3-4ml every 18 hours and tomorrow will be starting them on terra grow.
