Experienced growers know that the red hairs will indeed turn brown on some strians. Leaves may darken as well.
Mold is typically a white powdery color, a mottled rust color, or black. Mold is powdery and discolors the leaves beneath it - as it feeds. Black and rusts may be slimy, and the leaves affected begin to rot and smell.
Make sure that your curing time humidity is below 50% during the first critical days. A dry leaf surface is the best mold inhibitor thier is, foiling bacteria as well.
If you suspect that a portion of your harvest has a mold, fungus, or rot, immediately remove the suspect portion and quarentine the cut away from other curing plants - like in an open-to-light paper bag over the refridgerator. Wait 48 hours and check stock. Burn or bury it in the back yard if its gone off bad - spores travel on the wind.
Good luck!
