Deep Purple. Different Phenotypes.

You're kind of right... all plants will go purple in the right environment, however, there is no such thing as a "true" purple strain. Some plants just turn purple at higher temps than others. Especially plants that are acclimatized to regions that 100+ every day in the summer (any African/South American strain).

it is not temperature related if ONLY the calyxes are purple.

I'm growing two Deep Purple strains and I have the very same pheno's as you just described

Both beans cracked at the same time, They also sprouted at the same time.
They 2 weeks old.

They are Air - Pots and they the business

Air - Pots air prune the roots and this constant pruning prevents any root circling and promotes the growth of more and more feeder roots.

I use Smart Pots outdoors ijust never seen air pots like that before. pretty cool
