Anybody here play poker or omaha, live or online.

whats your fave poker site or casino?

do you have a favourite pro player. whats your fave hand and at what level do you play comfortably.

nl, pl, fl, holdem omaha what variation do you like best, also do you have any bad beat stories or just poker banter, post here as i love a good poker tale.

i play at pkr and reefer poker, i dont play under the influence though lol.

my favourite hand is kd 10d as i won my 1st 10 player sit n go with it on dartmoor prisons resettlement unit. i play nl holdem 0.50 - 1.00 and plo 0.05 - 0.10.

i won a massive pot on jokerstars 5 - 10 tables with a straight flush 9 to k of spades and have 2 royal flushes under my belt 1 live play and 1 on party poker, i keep it to a min now and only play on the 2 sites i mentioned above.

entertain us with your poker patter.

I play at least twice a week. Wednesday is a cash game, NL. People buy in for 50-100 bucks usually. Pots can get over 50.
Fridays is a tournament, 50 buy in, usually 10-12 players.
Used to play online all the time until black friday. Tried bodog and cake briefly, wasn't impressed. Can't wait till they fix it and bring it back.

I thought cake was a bit crazy like full boats and quads every few hands lol, i dont understand why it took the feds so long to crack down on it in the usa, its bull and the amount of money theyve lost due to ridding u.s players, i couldnt begin to imagine.
i would hate to have to bet with play chips all the time i really feel for ya, although it will save you money haha.

I play about 3-4x weekly in live games. I play a few mixed games but those are only once a month. Too many people seem intimidated by mixed games so stick to NLHE which bores me if I play it all of the time.
I like 2-7 triple draw, PLO and 6-card split

I haven't played online since Black Friday.

It will get fixed. There is too much money at stake for it not to be. As we face high debt and deficits they need all the revenue they can get. There are bills out there, but honestly I think the best chance for it is the debt commission. They have to come up with trillions in cuts and revenue. Online poker would be free money.
It would be a hard sell for some legislators back home, but that's the beauty of the debt commission. These 12 people will (hopefully) come up with a list of things that has to be voted on, up or down, no amendment. They can go back home and say they had no choice, it was all or nothing.
It's a no brainer really.

i live for poker, used to play on fulltilt til it got shut down, now i'm on stars. plo, nlhe, razz, 2-7 single draw, horse, seven game and even a lil badugi thrown in the mix does it for me.

i prefer tournaments and six handed hyperturbos but if the fish are in i'll play a lil cash too.

not quite pro but i'm a profitable player, i think if i ever quit my job i could make a living because i would take it a lot more seriously.

i'm always in the big hold em tournaments but still not had a big win.

whilst playing the sunday warm up this week the second hand in i had ks kc against a guy with ad jc, he raised early position i 3 bet he called, flop come kd qd 2s he leads out i three bet him and he four bets me, i think a while then 5 bet thinking he must have pocket aces, he thinks a while then calls me, turn brings out ts, he leads out for half of his chips so i put it all in thinking i'm crushing him only to see the bad news that he has broadway and i need the board to pair, river comes 7c and i'm crippled down to 6bb's. my bad beat story for this week.

last week i final tabled a three dollar turbo and got knocked out in fifth by some guy who called my shove with 3 8 off and turned a full house, i had a 7 off. however he was getting 4-1 on his money so that isn't classed as a bad beat to me just a coller hand, thats the game we are in i suppose

i feel sorry for the u.s based players, all of the pro's just moved abroad and the hopes of all the semi pro grinders must have gone up in flames, i hope it gets fixed before america falls oute of love with the game.

i do smoke while i am playing, it may a ffect my play negatively but i also think it may add a certain dimension too.

made a living playing for quite along time.

first off....drop the favorite hand bullshit.....that's as amateur as it gets. Same with favorite pro shit.

my favorite pro is me....no duuurrrrr or ivey or any of those cats who get backed by people all day to play in those tournies and ring games you see on tv. The fact of the matter is most of them are broke, other then investments, and endorsements.

I won't say my 2p2 name....... RZZA (RIU) knows me....and everyone should know him too.

It is very very unfortunate that we US players can't play online anymore. and after the dark days of April....I finally got all my cash offline.....only played live once since.

I'm not one of those "ohhhh FTP is better...better players, less donks" or the "ohhh stars is better...way less idiots"

fact of the matter is ftp, stars, AB, UB, party.....all full of idiots...who love to give away cash :)

I played all the sites...I had cash all over them, I didn't treat opne any different then the other. But FTP and stars will always be my home..

$26-$200-500$ Sng's, or MTT's. 1/2 -4/8 ring games...generally full handed tables. The sunday mil is a suckout fest (I only ever sat'd to it).

What errks me now is I STILL can't use my over 30k FPP's left to buy anything....although stars says we can..BS

You and almost every other semi pro player I know, and believe me I know quite a few. They all smoke, it's almost impossible for 80% of the people who play to handle the swings as they come....pot comes in handy for that.

Even Partrick Antonius said "Ohhh ya I got a couple good holes in my wall next to my pc.....sometimes I just handle the swings."

I dont know how having a fave hand and player is bullshit or amateur, what so you dont have a favourite football team or golf pro, or any other sport or sports person, i dont believe you dont have a fave strain of mj or phenotype maybe you dont but it still dont make it amateur, although it could be bullshit. the faces that keep appearing on final tables time and time again must be good thats why they are always on tv, you could play durr or ivey once and beat them but after 10 games heads up you will be owned, thats why theyre minted and we are not. I cant believe full tilt do that shit its mental.

I can't speak for someone else but IMO a favorite hand is superstitious nonsense. Every hand has to be evaluated based on the situation at the table, the other players, position, stack size, etc. I know some people that will call almost any raise with 10-8s or J-10 or even 9-6 because they happen to have sucked out with those hands a few times and think they are lucky, hence making it a favorite hand. This is stupid and in the long run you will lose more money than you will win. Now many of these hands can win a lot of money because of their deception value so they are worth playing once in awhile but the problem is when people label them favorites, they have a hard time letting them go and will attempt to draw out even when the odds aren't correct to do so.

Yea fulltilt was a scam. I used to play with them. I deposited a few hundred from my bank account to my fulltilt account, and they never charged me. So I guess the scam worked in my favor LOL. Free entertainment, ill take it.

I know what your saying and i personally wouldnt play kd 10d every time just cos its my favourite hand. having a favourite hand is an ice breaker, something to talk about, i myself wouldnt let it determine my play and i think anyone that does will like you said lose money in the long run. aces is usually peoples fave hand for obvious reasons. i just wanted to see how many people would say pocket rockets.

I used to play quite a bit, a few friends would have a game at the end of each week. We started off small with $5 buy ins, tournament play, lots of fun! The last tourney we had we stepped it up to $20 buy ins! The end pot was $180-$200 and I WON! My best bud took 2nd and it ended up being the two of us heads up at the end, best poker story of my life! At one point I was all in, shit this was like over 4 years ago and I still remember it, with pocket 10's against my friend who had JJ, third 10 on the river! LMAO! He STILL bitches about that today!

What's the biggest pot you guys have ever won? Highest ranking in a big tournament?

Another good story was going to the casino for the first time, this middle aged guy with his older friend or his dad, I can't remember, was straight up awesome, had me laughing the whole time. Friendly atmosphere, total strangers, that was cool.
