Im in the pacific northwest. I started harvesting early this week.(After the heavy rain/wind storm) 1/2 my crop early some budrot. Just cropped another 1/2 of what was on there. The buds are much better now but the budrot is getting bad.

Hey---We are in Eugene--the weather is UGLY---I say we pull what we have--others say let it ride. Plants are healthy, and looks like they are finishing, if not finished. Can you bring plants indoors and put them under lights? Just a thought, and may sound stupid, but we are---first serious crop outdoors, and we don't want to lose it. Advice?

I can see why you would want to cut em early with all this crappy weather. Our plants seem to like it, although they get very heavy and if the wind blew really hard again, they could potentially break at the branch.

I have not seen any bud rot, they actually just had another explosion of crystals . It is hard to leave them, but better safe than sorry if you're looking for good smoke.

If you think you need a good week of managed conditions (ie indoor under lights) go for it it can only help them. There's be less chance for mold, and you get 12 good hours of light, not cloudy rainy grossness

We are still aiming for 80-90% brown hairs, but I think if it hits 70-75 we'd throw in the towel and not risk it any more.

Of course you can bring them indoors. Just have a strong light. They will not like being brought indoors into fluorescent. Set up a 1000w and they will finish indoors.

That storm pushed us into harvesting early, too. It was impressive! Cut out a lot of budrot on Indicas, but still trying to hang on for another couple weeks. It will be a day to day call on whether to take what we've got or lose more to budrot. Not the best summer to be a first time grower in the PNW. E.WA has better weather, but worse politics!

Im debating it, day to day. Most of mine are just about ready, i would like to wait a few more days, but the mold is a problem.

Chop chop, thhe time is here. Our indicas all came down over the past few days. Our Haze was cut yesterday after finding some rot. We lost maybe 0.25% of total yield.

I bought an illuminated scope to check out the tricomes, what sight, thousands of resin glands, all clear of course.... oh well, we got torqued on a doob between two of us, os it s not a waste by any means.

we still have the 7 foot haze going, as it has no signs of mold. It is going to reain a bit this week so maybe another day or 2 or 7??

Time to buy more jars , we have a lot of green hanging, its great, and smells wonderful.

I will load a few pics here after breakfast and a doob.

your playing with fire, remember we are outdoors and may not ripen fully regardless if you wait a week. I think most would agree, any mold whatsoever and its probably time to cut em. The weather is good today but not for the next week so be careful

Hi everybody,

I bought the RS little microscope today & after a peek, cut off the smallest branch of the most mature ones. Trichomes are from clear to milky to beginning amber on diff sides of the bud. Red Hairs are about 40%. The smell ran some family members out of the house. It is a small house :hump:

Some areas of the plants clearly have a ways to go..white hairs standing straight out & buds not nearly as frosty. And the stuff on top... I need to get on a ladder to check out... probably should pretty quick, huh?

Does it stress the plant bad to take pieces at a time?
Is it sometimes neccessary to sacrifice the poorer for the good on large plants like this?

Thanks for any suggestions~

not if you're within a couple weeks or days...........you gotta dig through your shit and make god dam sure your not dealing with mold deep in at the stem. If you grew big buds outside one the West Coast nda your still growing I don't know. If your buds are tiny and sparse, like my Nanaimo grow, you might get by having them out there for another few days just to plumpen em up. I have 3 plants 5 ft tall with skinny buds that looked fresh and rain, I also grew thick buds at the floks place with the old man that went moldy in pockets, like one per plant.. Gotta keep on top of it. Good Luck

what does mold look like? Some of these buds are pretty thick...really ripe looking on one side, long white hairs on the other... way up high on the tops even.
We are in central wa~great sunny day today, took some of the ripest today, got a lot to go tho.
