LST gone wrong! pic

Ok so i tried LST on one of my plants.. 2 days into flowering. The stem didn't break all the way, but it did partially. It's bending over now =(
I hope it will just recover and come back all the more stronger. What do you guys think?



Also, when it did bust, a lot of sticky resin came out. Is this an indication of it being a female?

In my case it was the branches not the stem but I dropped a fan on my plants once and it broke a lot of branches but those that didnt break off completely I did put back up and taped(lol) to the stem and in the end they turned out to be the strongest of the bunch. In your case I would support it somehow now that its broken and hope for the best, but wait for someone more experienced to confirm. I hope your plant will be ok.

Indication whether it's a female does not "bust a lot of sticky resin" It's by looking near the nodes to detection white pistils (Female) or the green pollen sacs(Male)femaletop.jpgmaletop.jpg



Also, If your ladies "assuming" didn't fully break of, it might form into a (knuckle) If not... than trail and errors of attempting a low stress method and that bit will never grow back. Inner Nodes to the rescue than!

I know how to sex a mj plant when the pistils or sacs come out... i was wondering if the resin from a break in the stem indicated gender as well.
Anyway Im hoping the plant will just knuckle and grow back stronger.

I don't know how well your first lst attept will turn out as, I've never been brave enough to try. I did however lift one my girls a little high and slammed her head first int the ceiling. Her neck snapped instantly. I panicked , grabbed some and celephane, tape, and tried my best to stabilize her. This ended up working great and she finished fat and happy. I cut the tape off after about a week. So, in a worst case scenario you can try to splint her up. Good luck

Cool thanks man.. As you can see from my pic, it's just bending slightly.. I think I don't even have to touch it and it will grow back right.

Dont sweat it. As long as it isn't a clean tear or break, it will continue to thrive as part of the plant. It may mean supporting that part with a yoyo or something, but things will turn out fine. :)

Yes and its well into flowering so i agree , but his is just starting out ??? surely pinching it off and re-veg for a bit is the common sense thing to do imo

that tape on that plant is hella ghetto lol.

I had a major break on my Allen Wrench and wrapped it in garden green tie tape and it healed fine and it looked gnarly. Like a straight buckle fracture on a human.

Traditionally you will want to perfrom lst prior to the flowering stage. The healing of the break will take more of the plants energy that it could otherwise be devoting to developing the flowers/buds.

Same goes for supercropping .

yup, tape it. maybe even form a splint somehow with some toothpicks/kabob sticks, but yea tape it and give it time to heal.

my dog chomped one plant in half, left it worse then heller keller, some tape, and 2 weeks later i had 1 plant that was topped, and a nice clone growing next to it.

(and a new dog.) nah i wish tho lol. i did remember to shut the door afterwards

May look ghetto but it did the trick. Didn't really have alot of time to drive out and get some garden green tie tape holding the snapped cola.

It's the best way to do it. Electrical/Duct/Masking tape all work well.

This grow, I snapped a 12" branch off the main stem during flowering. It had a partly formed 8" cola on it. Taped it back on with some support for the weight and it didn't even stop growing. In a week it was completely reattached.

i have never read so much sillyness , duct tape it lol , snap it off , clone the top , it will repair in a week on 12/12 , taping a still growing stem is bordering on ridiculous !!
