Was this your first time drowning the plants??
Yes my first drowning ever and I must say this technique has some real merit to it, early smoke report below. :-P

Ok I added some more jars and got rid of the Tupperware and manage to get in another round of scale work and it looks as if the final weight will be about 7oz 12g of bud, 11g medium grade hash, and 3g of nice kiff.

Here is a picture before they go away

Early Smoke Report

Below will be the bud me and my wife will be sampling. All values will be based on a 0 - 10 scale, 0 being bad, and 10 being great.

Smell
There is a nice lemon smell returning back and the buds no longer smell fresh. We both agree right now that the lemon smell is slight and will come on strong during mid cure, we give Smell: 7 and expect this will top out at around 8.5

Taste
Very clean taste with not much lemon at all, I was looking for a lemon blast and did not get it but the taste was very mild almost refreshing. Again we both agreed on 7.5 and may get to 9 depending on the final flavour after cure.

Potency
We ended up taking 2 hits from the pipe and 2 hits from the J and we were both pleased with the initial high, it hits very fast and stays in the head. Very heady with no sedative feeling which we both enjoyed (You cannot be comatose with two kids). Again we both agree on 8 and believe that once cure a 9.5 should be easily obtained.

Overall
The bud feels dry with a moist touch and rolls very nicely, burning is still not even bud it does not go out.

I gave the early smoke a 7.5 and my wife an 8. We both believe when we do this this smoke report again in a month or two the results will be a 9, another smoke report will be written with the grow summary which will come hopefully in about 2 weeks, and maybe a final report after the bud is fully cured.

Hey, I love your smoke report. I think you guys are almost as obsessive as me.

Your macro trich shots are amazing. You harvested just at the right time in my opinion.

Note that the sedative effect of the bud will come out more as they age in their jars. The early smoke has always been 'a rush' kind of thing for me just after every harvest. But a bit more couchlock will develop as they cure. So will potency.

One of the biggest factors for me in a smoke report is the long-term effectiveness report. Any decent weed will get you high the first few times you smoke it. What separates the really good weed is the fact it keeps getting you high every day despite the fact that you've been smoking it multiple times a day for months. Less potent weed will crash into a wall and won't get you high anymore after a while. So you still have a bit more testing to do... It looks pretty potent, though, from where I'm sitting.

Thanks for the replies.

I definitely WILL ALWAYS drown from now, I have paid for crops in the past years and have had great success with my grower(s) and they are very meticulous with their process which does not involve drowning or flushing but a long extensive cure. I have now sampled some small Lemon Skunk buds which have basically just moved from drying to cure stage and they are extremely smooth although little taste, and the high is very nice and clean; which differ widely from my sampling of previous paid for bud before cure I would almost throw up and gag.

In short I have been made a believer of the drowning.

I'm smoking some early stuff too, didn't pass drying yet even, and man it get's me baked.
Sooo clean too, the smoothest smoke I've had in ages.
I don't understand, fan leaves were still green with N, I was only like half way through flushing.

But man clean clean lemon skunk.
The first half of the bowl has that hashy taste, it's so nice.

Excellent gardening you guys!
