I did exactly that, even left a few that I dont think will reach or amount to anything valuable just to be safe. The screen is just too high I think, so I'm making actual risers today.

Also, I gave the plants a good watering last night, they look much much better today. Still not sure if they just recovered from the pruning or if they were underwatered. I'm gonna say a little of both. How about timing, am I gonna be able to flower in about 10 days you guys think? I'm expecting a lot of stretch from the SSH and a decent amount from the SC, hoping that will finish filling the screen by then.

I always LST in veg for scrog so my screen is just a few inches above the top of the container. I like to have about 30% of the screen full when I flip the switch. Another thing I do is zip tie the branches down to the screen to keep the canopy as even as possible.

So you run them ontop of the screen? Ive been putting them under but i do ziptie them up where they first reach the acreen, then bend them to the next one

Yes, I run them on top and keep all the canopy even that way. It works great for me. When I first tried it I didn't know any better and it just became the way I do it. The object is to get even light coverage and spread them out. I am using only 400 watts so I have to make it count.

I though having them bent through the holes could cause bruising and damage. No problem with for you im assuming? What are you using for a screen

I built a grid with bamboo stakes that had 3"x3" holes in it. It is very light weight. The chicken wire may be harder to work with in my scenario. Larger holes gives you more flexibility to move the branches around and makes initial placement easier. I have never had a problem with the stems not going where I wanted them. I was thinking about trying chicken wire at some point but I am not convinced there are any advantages yet.

I weaved a few of mine through this morning by bending the first wire down and the second up so it was a more gradual bend. it also helped hold the screen down a little more which lets my lower bud sites be at or above the screen. I think I'm going to mostly keep it under after that initial bend though. i also threw a few zip ties here and there. ill try to get some pics later

Cant have too many right? Everythings looking good, doing a little tucking and tying here and there. Really starting to wonder when I should put them into flower...nobody has any input?

first 3 are across the cab (panoramic is being wierd right now, will work on that later), up close pics of SC. They're the furthest into training right now.

You have to be careful not to zip tie them too tight or you will strangle the stem. Pic #5 looks like it may be too tight. You can go ahead and flip them to 12/12 if you want. Myself. I would wait until they fill out the screen more. It is important to remember that they will stretch out and fill in the first 3 weeks of flowering.

Im gonna give you the best reason why you should NOT do this ever while scrogging.
There will be many times that things will need adjustments or trmming or w/e.... and its so easy just to lift the screen off the plants(the branches just slide right though the holes no problem. Then you do your work....the place th escreen right back ontopof the trees.....they then grow back through the holes with renewed vigor...giving you 10-20 times a harvest to arrange and rearrange your branches, etc.
Just put the screen on top and let the plant do its thing, this way is so much less damaging to the plant then anyother way i have found.

LT, it was a little tight because the branch pulled back through the zip tie some and I had it right before a node. So as it grows it should get better but I'm keeping an eye on it. thanks

Philo, the reason I ended up weaving and zip tying is because my screen is just a little too high, so by zip tying it, I can help hold the screen lower as well as pulling branches further up and having them stay.

Hey all, been a busy few days around here, finally got some pics to share. So my POS Lumatek ballast started popping fuses about a month ago and has popped 4 in the last 2 weeks. So I called it quits on that ballast about a week ago and have been running one. I ordered a quantum 600w dimmable, should be here today or tomorrow. Either way, I flipped my light schedule yesterday after taking new clones Sunday. Most of my first batch didnt make it, I think I kept them too wet. The 3 Strawberry Cough are now in soil though, and I included a pic for help with diagnosing their problems. Also, when do you guys feed in relation to light switch. Like do you try to get a batch of flowering nutes in asap or just wait until they show the very first signs of def?

Oh yeah I forgot I did that since the last update....I built 8 and only put a couple in because the plants were already too trained into the screen. but the ones that I could squeeze under the plants really helped, pushed an extra couple inches of plant matter into the screen and took 4-5 days off growing time

So here it is. It's officially week 2 of flowering. The pictures with the lights on are from last night, right as I was watering them and giving them Superthrive. Hence the depressed looking SSH. The lights off pictures are from this morning. I'm trying to get used to their watering schedule, the soil still seems to be somewhat moist and then I find the plants looking like that...Anyway theyre already much happier this morning. I put some ladybugs in too, will check on them tomorrow and see how theyre doing.

2 of the SC in cups are doing alright, most of the clones as well. The purple kush is the worst survival rate so far, only 2 of the 5 cuttings I took are still looking healthy.

Pushing flauers, good to see. I hope that SSH works out well for you man did it ever kick my ass. I felt my genetics were not right or something, pulled it out to make room for other plants. Best of luck, screens are filling nicely and looking very nice

I read you lost some clones.... Just a couple suggestions, try taking larger cuttings and get a dome for them. I too have struggled with cloning and have finally figured it out (it seems). I've also had better success with rooting powders as opposed to gels. Better luck will come your way!

Thanks for the input and advice. I just took a few more clones (the last of the cuts that wouldnt reach the screen). I've been using a dome, but I did take bigger cuts this time, a little bit sturdier and hopefully a little easier to take. I've been using hormex to dip and a powder(I forget the name, cheaper home depot bottle though). I think I may have also been overwatering.

I was honestly starting to look at a diy cloner of some type. I just have enough other projects in my life right now and dont need to take on another one just yet. If all else fails I'll just go buy some more clones. Whos gonna complain about new strains anyway?
