the room is an odd shape so lets just call it 3ft x 3ft x 7ft . The rest of the space is for me to manuver around the room. I have a shelf above the right side of the wall that is about 10 inches in height. When I tried my last grow my seedling got killed...im sure i had her too close to the florescents. There is a hole in the roof of the room that leads to the attic i wanted to use for ventilation. however when i try to push the electronic casing thru it wont go. Also there is a strange white film on one of my fans. Any ideas would be great...i want to crank out as much as possible. I plan on doing 12/12 from seed with the idea i can have all my plants in one room under a 250w metal halide.

That electrical box is probably nailed into the studs. I would consider wiring my 250w directly in where that other fixture is. Then you could take out the light switch and wire in your 12/12 timer. As for exhaust, you could drill another hole in the ceiling or the floor.

You'd probably be better off drilling a new hole for ventilation...And the idea of wiring the metal halide to that socket is a good idea. I just hope you know what you're doing if you decide to give it a shot.
