Of course it should be legal. All the negatives associated with prostitution are reduced when it is legalized, which it is in more countries than you would think. Just because a person thinks its wrong to do it isn't just cause to make it illegal, a person needs to examine wjether the harm caused by it is reduced or increased by keeping it illegal. This is a situation of concenting adults... How can you criminalize it? In my oppinion it is an example of oppression keeping it illegal. You might at this point assume I'm a whore hound, I'm not. How it is done in other countries is all men wear condoms, all prostitutes recieve regular MEDICAL examinations, taxes are paid, health insurance is recieved. Rates of std's are reduced, as does rape as said befor. I'll bet it even contributes to stronger marital situations as sneaking around with secret RELATIONSHIPS is the most dangerous thing to a marriage. In australia there is a prostitution company on the public stock exchange. I know a new place to invest money ...

You made a good point about cheating and being in a relationship with someone as opposed to casual sex with a prostitute. I mean, sometimes a partner is away or sleeping with a stranger may even make a dysfunctional couple realize how much they actually love eachother, you never know XP Got to look at both sides here...

Weed and prostitution is legal in the netherlands, they have certain rules about it and the locals are very tolerant and actually enjoy being so open and liberal minded. When you go there you see that it actually works well but in other parts of the world i dont think it would be so good, it wouldnt work in my town or country unfortunatly. Peace

I think legalizing Marijuana would work so much so:

It's amazing the different opinions regarding one's gender and how outspoken they are about their sexuality.

I'm glad you just came out and said you would do it. I'm really torn- it's upsetting why some women end up in the sex industry, but at the same time shouldn't they be able to say 'I want to be paid for giving myself to men'?


I don't know. It's cool for men to be sexually charged but not women... Unless sex is their proffesion...

...So logically, if women want freedom, we should all become prostitutes...? 0_o;

Some women choose to do it as it beats sitting at home skint with kids or working 9 to 5 in an office, some are very well paid and use the money to go through college and live good lifestyles. Peace

@Kuoi: It sounds like you've had a tough time. Perhaps childhood abuse. That can wound deeply.

Everything is a problem for somebody. That doesn't mean we should forbid it to everyone to protect those people. Some people have a serious problem with MJ. Keeping it illegal criminalizes the women who do it. If they do want to change careers it's hard to get a job with a rap sheet. And just like with MJ, the people who manage the prostitutes are tough criminals. People get hurt and killed. And of course the whole scene is awash with hard drugs. The reality is that making it illegal doesn't stop prostitution, it just makes the hooker's life miserable.

I do watch a lot of porn. Sometimes with my gf. I've never been with a prostitute. I don't find the idea attractive although I must admit I wouldn't mind owning a sex slave :). I wonder what percentage of men do go to prostitutes and how often?

who says its not okay for women to be sexually charged? old people...

i think its totally normal for a woman to love sex. sex is a big part of the human experience.

Its not so difficulf to understand why women, or men for that matter, become prostitutes. If you go to say vietnam or cambodia it can be seen very easily jO a prostitute sleeps all day, then at night goes out to party at a bar and get drinks bought for them, then they go back and make 10 times what a regular worker makes. Easy lifestyle, higher pay, just...the job has its downsides

Yes. And in many parts of the world, women have only two choices, being a wife or being a prostitute. I don't think sex is ever a motive for prostitution even for male prostitutes.

YES. and not the street walking petrie dishes that we called whores. I mean like legal clean regulated brothels.I'll tell you how I arrived at my conclusion on why legal prostitution is beneficial.

My sister works at an assisted living home. She sees these old men and women who have lost their wives or husbands and are VERY, I repeat, VERY lonely. She constantly gets hit on, they touch her, and masturbate infront of her. My sister and I were on my porch a few weeks ago drinkin a beer and smoking a bowl and she was talking about how these men are so horny. I said "they need hookers". She very quickly responded "YES!". These people are so lonely and, by human nature, like to fuck. We all like to fuck. Just because they are old and need some oxygen doesn't mean they can't fuck. They need clean regulated prostitutes (male and female) to come in and give it to them and satisfy them.


I know I would be absolutely miserable if I knew I would never get some ass again in my life. Wouldn't you?
