Sucks to hear D, I had that happen with a couple of my males too. I was always worried about females going herm, never thought about a male herming. Lol. Hopefully you are able to find another one.!!

cheers Bill. I think I'll use the Deep Blue F2 instead. I am also going to try an F1 male that the posse has as well.

Is the hermie gene the hermie gene? Meaning, if a male hermies and crosses to a non hermie female. Is it the same gene that allows a male to go female as it is a female to go male? I would of tossed him too. Just something to think about tho. Sorry to hear that.

No worries aeviaanah, better to find out now than after I had spluffed anything (there was some sacs opening and I had already considered using them but held off). Basically when looking at basic genetics, each plant will have 10 chromozones from each parent, so no matter what has the herm gene, and whether or not it is recessive, or dominant, it is going to creep out in one of those many 10x10 combinations. I would rather just not put myself through the hassle of trying to establish one that hasn't, with the thought in the back of my mind that it may still leap out at some point.

I see....wasn't aware of the 10 chromosomes. Makes sense tho, i need a lesson on basic genetics. Ive read a bit on the subject but i get brain turned to mush pretty fast on the topic. There is lots to it.

Got any good reads in mind?

I have honestly never really sat down and read a MJ book from cover to cover. I guess it's just things you pick up.

there are loads out there. You can find articles on the internet, just google and look for the links to pdf's which are generally pages scanned from books or such like.

This is good logic. I didn't know how many matchups there were in the dna of cannabis. but i figure if P1 or P2 had a positive/negative trait some of the offspring will. Which is why its important to grow out as many phenos as you can before picking parents.

Nice Mr West, Engineers looks delightful. I got 10 on the go so hoping for a nice ratio of fems from that. I still have a bit left in a jar which I miser away, lol.

Got some Deep Blue F3 just chopped and dried, it's just hanging in the bag, smells very fruity, almost like bubbleicious chewing gum, (sp) the pink stuff. Will jar tomorrow, it's only a wee yin, I got another one I chopped which looks like a radioactive icecream cone, and there's one pending and ripe for the chop tomorrow. There are 3 more of the fukked up yellow ones that are in flower and 1 more of the inbetween pheno. Hoping that cola fills out like the others, she is lovely actually.
