Ron Paul wants to end federal marijuana prohibition

"My attitude is if the science and the doctors suggest that the best palliative care and the way to relieve pain and suffering is medical marijuana then that's something I'm open to because there's no difference between that and morphine when it comes to just giving people relief from pain," Obama said. "But I want to do it under strict guidelines. I want it prescribed in the same way that other painkillers or palliative drugs are prescribed."
But he added that he was concerned that the reasons for the use of marijuana would grow and create a "slippery slope."

in 3 years, obama and the democratic congress have helped my family by:

allowing my wife to buy insurance despite a pre-existing condition
making work pay tax credit = $800 so far for me, my brother, mom, and dad
ARRA - faster travel time to town due to expanded highway
lily ledbetter fair pay act - allows my wife or mom greater statute of limitations in case of gender-based pay discrimination
my dad (a carpenter) gets more work, especially when tax returns come in
tax breaks allowed me enough to invest such that i no longer have to claim UI
extend this to friends as well:

openly gay friends now allowed to serve in armed forces
friends going to college get more in loans
friends get tax rebates on energy efficient appliances which also save them money
friends have taken advantage of tax breaks for solar power (so i'm told) such that they get paid every month instead of paying for electricity
the holder memo
doma now unconstitutional

if you want me to list the things i don't like about obama, the list might be just as long. but the positives, in my eyes, far outweigh the negatives. i'm not going to blame his choice of bernanke or immelt for whatever happens to me. i happen to take personal responsibility for my status in life.

the dow is up 40% and you guys are making a big deal out of the recent jobs report that came back 0, a 700k improvement from bush but also the worst number in many, many months (over a year and a half).

Bush left the Dow? WTF? I keep hearing a whole lot of excuses why its perfectly OK we have a messed up economy under Barrack Obama. The truth is hes "in over his head". Obama doesn't have any real answers, to any real immediate problems. Back to what this thread is about. I don't think Obama is going to make the push to legalize weed. I know he has smoked it, and left it up to state medical laws and all that. But he has way more important issues to take care of including making money than to be an advocate for marijuana legalization. I would be REALLLY suprised to see him make a push. Even though budlover thinks I'm setting myself up for a trap. I just don't think its on Obama's plate right now.

Why don't you have a problem with Exxon who makes $114 billion every 3 months and pays ZERO taxes?
