Hey, i haven't been on here in months, so i thought i'd update a bit.

Haven't smoked weed in ages, feel waaaay better for it, started a fitness program, feel waaaay better from that. Joined the British Army too wile i was at it :D

Its taken its sweet time but i've finally got my date to start training in october. Propper looking forward to it too!

When i first applied i was still tokin but you get drug tested so i had to stop, got medically deferred aswell when i sent my med forms away because i had asthma when i was younger, gotta be 4 years clear and i was only 3 and a half, got a doctors letter and they overturned the decision :D

Had my interviews, smashed them, went to Scotland for selection, smashed that. Didnt get the grade i wanted to be put high on the list for the job i wanted which was R.E.M.E. vehicle mechanic or recovery mechanic. So i got in the Royal Armoured corps in the Royal Dragoon Guards as a tank crewman. Propper excited to start training!!!!

so yeah, thats about it

anyone else in the army? been in the army?

Nice one man! congrats

Tanker is good job, prolly start as a driver, then move up to loader then gunner...its muddy , greasy and stinky ...its a mans job :) Nothin like a 125f degree tank that smells like piss , sweat and gun powder haha. Plus side is, tank crews are tighter than family.

I have 6 good friends in, 2 of which want to do it as a career, the other 4 would'nt go back if you paid them 1 million each.

Of course those 4 have done two tours each.

Thought ptsd was a joke, until I had a roomate who did two tours.......

one of my best friends growing up went into the army infantry. They stationed him in Alaska....he went AWOL a couple months later....snuck back home....they caught him, sent him to Iraq. 2 tours later he's home. 2 years later he goes to do his taxes and the FEDS take every cent from him.

cause 4 years earlier they had to fly him back to Alaska after he went AWOL. 2.2k$.....bye bye

An artillery man!! I used to be in the military ... As you are, I also was a cannon crew member for the US army. Loved it!! Yu won't meet a better set of guys than those in artillery!! I was on the 109 howitzer, and the 119 howitzer. The 109 howitzer were 155mm rounds, and the 119 howitzer were 105mm rounds. It was awesome!!! Congratulations... Keep in touch!! I'm sure everyone including me, salute you!

Hahaha, yeah PTSD is no joke at all!! My wife has to deal with me every single night that I don't take meds to go to sleep with hahahaha she's woken up to me on top of her strangling her, dad serious. Me freaking out looking for my weapon, me crying, screaming, just losing it!! It's very serious.... But they have meds to take care of the majority of it now...
