Kush Expo OC (Nov. 18-20, 2011) is Orange County, California’s biggest Medical Marijuana Mega Show! There will be a smoking section as well as hundreds of booths and tons of giveaways including free coupons from dispensaries. Live concerts and a Hot Kush Girl Contest. The resting lounge will include food, a full liquor bar and massage chairs. Doctors will be at the convention providing med cards. There will also be a custom rides car show.

Seems like every one of these is the "biggest mega show!".

From their terms and conditions (yeah, I'm a big enough nerd to read their terms and conditions):

. Tenant shall obey all federal, state, local laws, rules
and regulations. The sale, distribution or display of items derived from the cannabis plant
or containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is prohibited, unless the item is specifically
exempted from control by federal law, rule or regulation. Prohibited items include (1) any
item derived from the cannabis plant containing THC, and is also edible, used or intended
for use for human consumption or causes THC to enter the human body; and (2) medical
marijuana in any form. Samples of medical marijuana, as well as, sales and placing orders
for future purchases of medical marijuana are also prohibited.

Sounds like a lot of fun! A kush expo without all that pesky cannabis around!

So basically it's going to be a bunch of sleazy marketing people with a strippers in bikinis show? Awesome.

I only lasted 10 minutes there...

But the High Times Medical Cannabis Cup in San Fran...OMG...that show was fucking epic...Really, TONS of weed flying around, even free weed for signing up with a collective...no joke, I'll do that event every time it;s in my state!

HempCon was the company that threw the event in Oakland last weekend. That's how it was there. A bunch of booths filled with advertising with no one handing out free samples or even selling even though the city of Oakland encourages that sort of thing. It's almost like these big promotional companies don't give a shit about anything but getting our money. Props to the hightimes cup people for at least letting everyone do their thing.

I'm done with HempCon events unless I have business to take care of there. You can't have a cannabis cup event without the cannabis. From now on before I buy a ticket to any of these events I'm going to skim through the terms and conditions and make sure they at least allow cannabis at them.

IMO by next year, expect one every month or two. These things are profitable and good advertising for a lot of companies. That means you can expect to see them increase in frequency. I've already been to 3 this year and I know I missed at least one and will be going to another one. Wouldn't surprise me at all if these events evolved into a monthly farmers market type environment with competitions at all of them.
