i just got a package in the mail from a hyro store(HGT) and the package was open!

it was a bulb and a ph meter! a whole corner was open! open enough to see the bulb inside! i live in a small town with a bunch of nosy ppl, should i worry. i definitely looks obvious that someone looked inside or could easily move some package material around, hold the flap open and see the bulb. it was an 8" by 8" tear on a corner of the box!!! wtf!!!!!!

i feel like i should bitch at ups. i dont want to cause a scene though.... im really pissed off. what would you do?

I would do nothing. Maby let the shippers know the box was broken. Also I wouldnt worry to much. Ups Isnt like mail the box was it the back of his trucn not sitting in a bag next to him all day. I highly doubt it was anybody being nosy. In my work we get about 20-30 boxes a day and without fail one or two are riped. if youve ever been in a ups hub its crazy literally miles of conveors and such. Oh and I doubt the ups man even lives in your town and couldnt care less that you ordered a bulb. In the future you may want to suppore a local grow shop and not some mailorder place.

Don't worry if it was UPS, they throw shit around....all of them do. My last batch of nutes had an issue. I send everything to a safe address luckily because the box full of different 4 liter bottles was completely saturated with nutes except for a little square on top. The mail lady asked what was in it and it smelled funny!, thankfully the girl told them "I don't know it must be something my boyfriend ordered." I hate shipping companies.

yep - get a lot of packages and i really wasn't joking with my post above. If it isn't the company screwing up the order it is the shipping company destroying packages.

there are no local hydo grow shops around here. i couldnt tell you how far away a store with a hps bulb and ph meter would be.... probably at least 100 miles or so, maybe more lol.

i like hgtsupply, great prices(im very poor right now, for real) and good customer support. i highly.......................... fuck off(i was going to say how i recommend htg), i just went to go look at the new bulb to see how it looked... its a sunmaster hps, and this one has some shit floating around in it too. more than the last one.. wtf. why cant i just get a normal bulb... ahhhh... my life........

ya, its cheaper to pay for the shipping than do a 200 mile road trip(would be roughly 35 bucks/200 miles)... lol gas is crazy, i think yesterday was a record high for crude oil. i think the average price of gas is 320 something, or about that...? my vehicle gets an average of 18mpg

im jealous... i wish i had a motorcycle. i used to have one, how i miss it. ya i moved up north and there isnt much of a summer up here. i basically live in the Alaskan tundra. well not really, but its NORTH America. lol. theres about 4 feet of snow on the ground now.... lol. 3ft at the very least. peace out.

I wouldnt sweat it,more than likely it was just the usual UPS employees looking for something to steal,happens all the time,bastards have ripped me off blind over the years.

Three years ago they called to inform me that $15,000 worth of hifi amplifiers of mine were lost,they called 2 hours after i dropped them off,i said fuk that & went to the warehouse & got the shift manager.

Miraculously they found my amps sitting in the back of the warehouse with the shipping tags torn off,some shitball was gonna rip them off.

Then another time they fuked me real good,this shit was straight off of a tv show,the brown shirt guy got out of the truck & drug a $1,900 stereo cabinet by hand,across my lawn,over the sidewalk ,then split without so much as knocking on my door,i went out to get the cabinet & saw that the box had been speared straight through with a fork lift.

ahhhhh..... lmao, this is fucking crazy. the ph meter wont calibrate now............. aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh... i presoaked it in 4.0 buffer solution for like 2 hours then tried to calibrate it. it wont go down past 6.something(i forget the exact measurement, i did it last night) wtf. man, idk about hgtsupply now. i really dont want to complain because this is their "fix" for my broken supplies that they sent me in the first place. like i said, they sent me a bulb with a piece of metal in it, and a ph meter that slowly veered off calibration(2.7 points past where the lowerst ph calibration setting. i backed it down all the way and it was 2.7 points off. at first, the last meter worked..) this is their hanna champ meter!

i dont want to be a say anything because what if they think im a dick and drop a dime on me. this is bull shit. maybe i have bad luck? idk i need to later guys

In the end ups pays(most of the time),the thing to keep in mind with ups & fedex is the bullshit they sell as insurance is not insurance ,even though they call it insurance when they sell it to you,when they loose or smash an insured item then they call it "declared value" of the itme,after that they automatically deny all high dollar claims on the grounds of improper packaging,then make you fight it out with claims adjusters that they hire from an outsourced company.

It generally takes about 90 days of constant bullshit with ups until they pay,just on the general principal that they have an unwritten policy to deny all insurance claims i stick it to them every time they smash something of mine,i ended up with a little over $3,000 for the stereo cabinet,i submitted them an invoice with a brand new price on it instead of the used price i bought it at.

Fedex is the worst of all the shipping companies to get reimbursed from.
