Stupid Fan Control Question

You can add another timer and plug your fans/ventilation to it via surge protector for during daytime hours. And have the timer periodically shut off the fans.

Thanks for the replies! Do you think shutting off the fans for a period of time would be beneficial? Any cons with doing this?

Hey rebourne,

Personally I keep my fans going at all times. Plants don't do photosynthesis but they still go through respiration at night which uses up oxygen. So giving a steady source of fresh air at all times is great. Plus it'll lower the chances of mold and keep the stems tougher.

The only benefits I can see is a lower electricity cost, but I could be missing something.

Hope that helps :eyesmoke:

Fans will pull out the CO2 very quickly. If you are using CO2 you can run higher temps without harming the plants.

Hi PotPimp! I was considering adding additional CO2 and I was thinking that the fans would disrupt this, which is why I was considering shutting them off for a period of time to allow more CO2 to be used. Ideas?
