i'm trying different combo's of light positions and turning my 600w hps down to 400. Those pics are from the LSD's. 3 of 5 beans had twins and they all died, 1 had a little tiny seed in each calyx (from week 3) with 2 hairs coming out of the...hinge/a-hole of each seed > and the last one became sexually confused at week 6, only had 20 or so seeds when I cut it (the nanners never really opened except for on one limb about 1/2 way down and the top never got any nanners at all)>>>>>I'm also considering going with a 4'x8 bulb T-5 instead of the HPS. I LST my 1 keeper strain anyway, if I use LED's at first to keep em tight a T-5 might do fine.

LED side lighting is a good idea. I would also like to try an Induction Fluorescent light rather than the T-5. I would like to see a few more grows with one first (and plasmas cost way too much, but they might be the best of all if the tech advances like LED's have over the past 2 years).

about .5 or so is my average too. Switching to coco from soil has helped a lot, but I have terrible luck with the pheno's I get. I took a few steps back and ordered some more established and stable strains.....oh yeah, a few of the strains I tried didn't like the LED's as much as the others >so matching the strain with the set up can really swing the results. Something that can handle higher temps and has a more compact frame will help. One of those strains that look indica dominant then get the thin sativa leaves in flower give the better results for me.

I switched to coco about a year ago. Will never go back to soil again. If I decide to switch, it'll be DWC again, or another form or hydroponics.

Not to change subject, but have u guys heard of the LED lightbulbs being offered for 15 usd? They are 60 watt equivalent...available in india is it possible to use these? Is it possible to even order these in US?

i've seen them advertised, but have never heard any results from a grow. Going coco is by far the best decision I've made in a long time. No more why are my leaves curling up/down/turning yellow/getting spots/showing signs of lockout or deficiency/thought it was a deficiency so the lockout is the only thing keeping my girls from burning up/ problems. My little clone machines I made using DWC/bubbleponics instead of aeroponics work great too so it would be DWC or coco for me also.....a fast finishing good yielding strain scrogged or sogged would open up your options a lot. A decent core light with CFL's, T-5's or even 120w LED's as supplemental lighting might be the thing to do. I just completely tore down my room and redesigned it because of the power issues. starting over from seed, bible belt is a terrible place to self medicate.

I have honestly never considered CFL's, I started with a 2' 8 bulb T-5 then a 4' 8 bulb T-5 then on to HPS. Now I've been on LED's (plus my old lights) for about 18 months. I have a gap in my new room design that would require another LED.....I think I'll fill it with CFL's. Getting another LED to fill a 33"x 18" dim area.....what was I thinking. Also my cool tubes have the worst light reflecting capabilities. I could probably turn my 600w HPS cool tube down to 400w, hang it vertically, put a parabolic reflector on it, hook my in-line fan to the tube from the back of the reflector and use it as my exhaust fan (w/ my filter on the other end) and eliminate the cooling and air circulating/cleaning problem with one fan. It's worth a try anyway, I'm not afraid to fail miserably.
