after opening the door, hang a polypanda (or simular) curtain up inside.
or how about making the door on the back side so you have to swing it out to access?
My girl even said that, but I'd rather have easier access to it through the front, especially if I'm running fans and wires through the back. I'm going to have an intake and exhaust on the back and run the wires between the mylar and box and out the bottom. Plus, I might also build a Carbon Filter as well because I'll be using the box for the entire grow [i'll be switching out lights during phases]. So the Carbon Filter would have to hidden as well [ie. on the back]. I appreciate the input and any ideas are welcome, if you have anymore ideas mrmadcow, I would love to hear them.
Im drawing that right now for me. I was going to add weatherstripping and a latch with a optional pad lock. the latch will add pressure to the weather stripping to seal it air and light tight. the door will be about 2 inches shorter on the bottom and top. a peice of wood will fill that gap and the door will fit over it to form the seal and i was going to silicon the cracks all around after i screw everything together.
I was looking at some weatherstripping, which reminds me, awesome idea. Unfortunately the smallest size I've found so far for thickness is 1/4". That still leaves that 1/4" gap between the front and the side, making it noticeable that somethings up with it, if ever have someone come over [which I rarely do, but I do run a music studio]. I was also thinking maybe the thickness of the like rubber grommets/sealers that they use on cars like to attach your head gasket. It's thins enough to seal and keep light sealed, but I would have to find a place that sells it by the roll. And a latch would be too noticeable too. What would be cool is to rig up on of those combo locks that they use bicycles and build it into the wood with a latch, instead of just screwing an eye to the outside and using a masterlock. I think I'm going to look into that. It'd be stealthy, but yet impenetrable.
Just a thought though, if you come up something else let me know.
i use velcro and panda to seal my veg room from my flower room, but i think weather stripping and the latch will better suit your plan.
Is the rooms you set up on your journal? I'll check them out. I really did want to use velcro when I thought of it, but it just wouldn't add to the stealth. I'm not worried about people coming in and finding, I have 3 kids that are nosey as hell and big mouths though [Gotta love them though]. Right now, the oldest one thinks its a Palm Tree inside with lights on it, but I need to put it in something she wouldn't think of so I don't have her running to school saying, that daddy is growing a whole bunch of palm trees inside and outside. lol, you know?
