Thursday Night Chop Down!

im really convinced that panel had 4 out but its cool cuz i had to send 1 back anyway lol
how many 4inch inlines do i need for this setup,my bloom closet is 2.5ft x 5.5ft x 6.8 ft tall next to it is the veg closet it is 3.5ft long x 2ft deep and 4ft tall i have 1 4 inch inline fan pulling in to the bloom closet,in between the veg and bloom closet i cut a hole in the wall and made a fake floor in veg to bring the air in from bloom(my ac is in the bloom closet too)so in the trap floor in the veg i have 2 4 inch inlines pulling from bloom,(the trap floor was to separate lighting) and then i got 1 4inch inline on top of veg pulling it out, im runnin 2 280s in bloom and 3 90 ufos in veg ,do i need more intakes in bloom?

you got the same kind of fan i got, dual squirrel cage. i ended up making both y branch into a single exhaust that hooks up to carbon filter....just a tip the least curves and stuff the better...you want nice transitions and long curves....i think 1 90 elbow adds 15' of duct to the length (in terms of air movement) invest in transitions and proper elbows, use hard ducting whenever possible rather than flex.. nice upgrades brotha! +rep!

with that much space i would suggest about 200 cfm's of exhaust, I'm not sure how much your fans are, but be careful of mfg ratings.... most stats are at free flowing and as soon as you add a coefficient of air drag (a pipe, elbow, rough interior surface) it significantly reduces the amount. the best true way of telling is to use a meter called an anemometer, holding this in front of an intake would measure the true CFM's. normal people don't have these and they can be very expensive... some are so sensitive you can measure a fart!

Thanks man, I think you are spot on with the 15' of straight to a 90.... air drag is more significant than most people think. internal roughness of the pipe even makes a difference... like you said, hard pipe over flex!!! I only had one piece of hard pipe to use, but the best part is I have no elbows at all. it goes out the wall of the cabinet and extends about 6" and it's outside!!

I checked the temp and it raised only 4 degrees when the lights came on!!!! sweeeeet!!!

hell yea, three speeds will be nice to have.... in the past i would put tape over the vent to block air speed, now i can just turn the knob!! I won't be able to check it out with the lights on till later tonight, but i'm sure it will be better.


I was just about to send you a PM.... I looked at both of my panels and they do have some diodes that are dim. they are all in a pattern. it is weird how in that photo you posted that one panel has them out and the other two don't... must be in the photo or something. I don't think my panel shipped yet... mike hasn't responded to email at all and it's been almost a week, maybe he is on vacation or something...

I got my lights yesterday, didn't see anything strange with them. Plugged them in for about a half hour and everything looked normal

Yep just plain cardboard compact and padded. I honestly never tracked it or looked for a number, I wasn't worried considering I've dealt with Mike before

Thanks man, the mystery plant i put in a couple weeks ago turned out to be an NYPD also!!! I have high hopes for the "air crate" and the plant seems to be doing really well in it.

you bet AV.... here ya go, only some of the babies are looking a little bigger!!! my veg cabinet has been thinned out recently to make room for these new breeds... so i only have one plant of each (bought) strain right now.

These first pics are HC's... the stems are getting thick!! and the small one is way over due for a container change... I'll fix that tomorrow!!!

this one is Don's breed..... this is one thick bitch!!! it has to be a female with all the junk on her trunk!!! hahaha

and these are the youngest ones.... One of HC's BSB x CB a couple of Chris' Floja crosses and of coarse yours!!!!

and here is a shot of the over crowded veg box!!!

and here are a few in flowering.... they are gettinf much better now and all the bad growth has stopped on all of them and budding is continuing!!!! a couple of them don't look bad at all. even the tang dream started to bud!!

that should be an easy and cheap one to fix... i agree getting your ballast out of the grow room is a must!!! I'm glad you took the second pic... it showed me that the wire is stranded and not solid core ( at least i hope the mfg wouldn't have used a wire nut to connect stranded and solid together!) but what you want to get is standard power cord. i suggest getting a 12/3. that stands for 12 guage(AWG(american wire guage)) three conductor. I know your ballast only uses two wires but the metal conduit acts as a ground wire. so when you replace it, you won't need the conduit just three conductor wire. you will use the third wire to ground the two together (I'll go into detail if you need more help on this) you should be able to get 20 foot out of that size. if you need to go further you might want to look at 10/3. If the extra cost is manageable for ya, then just buy the 10/3. it will be safer. you might need a few wire nuts that are big enough to connect the two.

Yeah man, I'm definitely lost! I just bought 4 ft of 12/3 since that's the biggest wire they had, and I really only need about 3 ft of slack so 4 is great for now. I see 2 white wires plugged in to the white wire that connects to the ignitor. Connected to the black wire from the ignitor is just one red wire. The wires on the 12/3 are Green White and Black. What goes where? Thanks soooo much for the help!

Nice update, this is the first time that wbrk x mk cross is being grown. Curious to see how it goes. I typically start topping and stuff after plants show sex. Plants will grow faster and show sooner. If you flip plants when they are real young, you may not want to do this tho.

My experience tells me males are usually thicker at the stems. Although i have seen some beefy females. Most of the time its the males that show strength and thick stems.

I wasn't sure what you were going to have me do and I already had the wires all separated at the time So I went ahead and wired up the white wires to the white wires, and the black wire to the black wire Lol Everything works great, although I'm definitely down for that drawing so I can get every little bit of safety I can have. The green wire is not connected to anything, which is exactly like my power cord. I'm sure it can get safer Lol √
