So I dont have a meter reader for my water...how do I know its at the correct PH or at lkeast close to it...Will letting the water sit for a day or two help it at all? any suguestions?
or he could buy a pregnacy test kit loli use the one witha little vial which u fill to a certain line, then u add 3 drops of the ph test indicator, then match the colors, when u r matching the color go outside, indoor lights can make it look like a diff ph than it really is.the ph will fluctuate with time,if u want to skip the colors u can buy a ph meter online but way more expensive.
I have a 20 litre hydro tank. I leave the water 24hrs to reduce the chlorine. I PH test the water before putting it into the tank and use PH up/down as needed (Careful as you only use less then a drop sometimes depending on how much water you have)
I also regularly test the water in the tank, a few times a week. Depending on whats in the water it can effect the PH. As long as its monitored it should not be a small problem just part of a routine. It should not fluctuate at different parts though?
Alot of problems can come from the wrong PH, so get it right. Get a tester kit and test it? Make sure you read the instructions to ensure your doing it right. The tester kits are £2-4 pounds and last about 100 tests it seems, get this before investing lots of money. PH ideally should be between 5.8 and 6.2.
You can buy nutrients such as Canna that have a PH adjuster or stablizer in the nutrients, however PH is such a basic/simple thing but so important. Gte a cheap PH tester kit online and read the instructions, the simple things are hard when you dont have the experience which i learnt in my first grow.
Good luck
Sorry I should state that I am hydro, not sure about the soil but yeah Canna Aqua Flores and Vega are PH balanced, still needs tweaking every now and again though! Not the kinda thing you would leave to chance. Are you sure canna is PH balanced? I use canna and I pretty sure its not but I could be wrong.
