Rolling Problems

Well whenever I try to roll a joint, there's always a problem... it's either my hands aren't steady enough, or i'm already too high. D)

every time i roll one, either half of it falls out of the ends and it's skinnier than a twig. or the paper just slides, it doesn't roll. so when im trying to twist it up, if the weed hasn't fallen out, then the paper just slides up and doesn't roll. i'm using regular sized top papers btw.

please help, i really really need to learn how to roll

gotta work the weed into a shape you want with the paper, then reshape with your fingers like pushing the extra that tried to fall out back in, reshape (roll the weed to make it form the circular shape)

also focus on making the hitting end perfect and the end that gets lit up will turn out pretty good no matter what.

i also do much better with job 1.5's than any other papers.. i start them off with small fold not on the glue end, to hold the bud better.. pack the bud in there good.. than gently tuck the part with the weed in over as tight as i can, once i have it tucked once, i pick the whole thing up and roll it the rest of the way.. the tuck helps to hold that edge in that i have problems with... i also take the end of the paper with the glue on it in my mouth and hold it in between my lips, while i roll the joint up with my hands.. by having the glue end in my mouth, i can adjust how much pressure i'm applying to the joint while rolling it..

maybe i need me some nails, as i see he uses his nails to tuck in the edge.. looks like a good method to me, but of course i bite my nails all of the time ... i know, i know, it's nasty..

and i like how he makes that twist on the one end of his to kind of hold it all together, i'm going to try that method out later tonight with a big pyle of bud.. i got some free packs of raps from the attitude a few months ago that i really like as they are really full sized..

nah you don't need nails, you know how you make opposite tension on the paper with your thumbs to straighten the paper out? you just do the same thing when you go to tuck the paper.

see poplars, that's exactly where i have my issues, that first tuck... unless i'm using 1.5's, i'm screwed, and i can never figure out how to tuck it good with smaller papers or when the j is packed full of bud and i don't have much left over paper.. guess i just need to really sit down and practice one day..

Usually the weed I smoke is so sticky, it forms to the shape very easily. It practically rolls itself. All I do is make a little crease (non-sticky side) so that the paper goes in the slot tightly, tighten down with fingers lick and presto chango I got a log ready to go. Now if your talking about rolling some seeded mexican brown that's another story and baseball bats are more typical and much harder to roll. You actually need some skills to roll a nice looking joint of regs. The kind bud is easy to roll. Stick with the kind bud and you should be on your way.

it would be easy as hell to show you in person... it's literally when you're going to do the first tuck, you have both your thumbs near the end, you put opposing tension, one going the opposite of the other, and it straightens the paper then you do the 'roll' motion and it usually tucks

I roll with sticky weed all day and it really doesn't work like that, you still gotta have the tucking ability or your joint will not turn out as high quality as it could...


and also, any sticky weed, the most stickiest of the stickest bud you can find, let it dry out completely and I guarantee you it will turn to powder.

I do agree that you need to tuck it, but for the most part when you pre roll it with your fingers(to get the form of it) before you tuck it, it will stay in the said position and then you just lick it and roll it into the sticky side.

If you really struggle at rolling just get a easy roller. Perfect joints everytime. I don't like to use them, but if I couldn't roll I would have one.

you do have a very good point on the form of it, that definitely is an integral part of rolling, doing the 'roll' to form it, and then the roll then tuck and finish!

the rollers are definitely better than not being able to roll at all, but the best joints are hand rolled

If the paper is sliding rather than rolling, try wetting your fingers then drying them off a little. The moisture will make the paper adhere to your fingers better. If there's no water around you can lick em' and it should work just as good. Good luck!

i watched that wiz khalifa video a long time ago, and many since and it still hasn't helped me lol

it's hard to pack the weed, because if i pack it or roll it too much, it falls out or it deforms the paper and/or the weed. and i can't for the life of me get it to tuck, even with nails i can't get it to tuck =/

well I've already said everything I can think of, the only other way you're gonna learn is someone sitting down and showing you.

i haven't tried any of these tips yet because i have to wait for my little cousins to leave, but once they are gone i'm going to try them and hopefully it works i'll be sure to post back here with the results
