Plant is 25 days old....Skunk Haze...Slightly stunted due to over watering the first week and a half....About 2 inches high and has about 4 sets of leaves on her....

Lights on her are : 3 - 6500k , 1 - 2700k.....all 23 watt and all cfl....

Is this too many lights ? thanks

Oh ok cool..just wasn't sure if it had too many on her at such a young age......Temp did hit a high today of 91...humidity around 40 to 50%

they won't grow over 85. I'd say take some out if they are only 2 inches you can leave 2 6500's and be fine, otherwise they are gonna bake dude.

Cool thanks for the info cranker....I didn't know they won't grow over 85.....I removed 2 lights down to 2 6500k now.....I am runnin a check on that thermometer to make sure it's working right....When I just went in there it was 86....I also put the 80mm fan more directly on her, and left closet doors open.....Not sure but the leaves look a little shriveled, and are not any kind of vibrant green but kind of dull instead...

She does seem to be stunted again.....I also over water at first....then maybe I underwatered lol as I went about 8 or 9 days without water....so since then I watered her once 2 days ago (I gave her 4 cups) (5 gallon pail).....Well it took about 24 hours after that water and she perked up...But now she is looking shriveled....I put finger in soil...seems like it is a little dry....Wonderin' if that 4 cups wasn't enough and she's thirsty ?

Also, what's the optimum temp range we want to be in ? thanks guys

According to Jorge Cervantes' book, 75 degrees during the day and 70 degrees at night is optimal.. It's really not realistic for most growers but at least keep temps below 85. That's when plants close up shop (literally, they close their stomata) and photosynthesis ends.

I really recommend you buy (or download) a book on growing. One that I really really recommend is Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook.

92 degrees is actual temp that weed stops growing at.90 will work if you have good air flow but it is not optimal.try to lower your temps.as for light you really cant over due it.plants grow with the sun and thats 1 bright ass light lol.only thing you can overdue is getting your lights too close to your plants but with cfl's thats almost impossible.ive had my plants grow into my cfl's and touch them without burn.you should be fine.good luck!

Looks like she's holdin' steady at 73 F and humidity is steady at 55%....Anyone else use an Acurite thermometer/barometer from Home Depot ? Seems like they are a little slow to react to changes ? no ?

Accurite makes decent therms for the price. They are slower, but accurate. Sunleaves makes a nice large display therm and you can probe things with it. :)

I think I have to call bullshit on the part where they wont grow over 85 degrees. I can not keep my room under 95 my good day 93 degrees. And I have got some cronic ass smoke off them plants. In the tropics im sure there is marijuana that grows plants love hot humid with lots of light. So im not to sure where you got your info but dont be telling people at 85 a plant wont grow....... Its just not true!

Hmmmm, makes sense that plants grow in the tropics......

Anyways temp wise I think I am doing OK temp was just at 82...outside temp is 85 and I have the windows open.....

I also just added a 3rd cfl right in top of the plant....I had one socket with w Y splitter and that put the 2 bulbs more on the outside of the plant.....so this bulb is positioned right over her....

I am wondering if the plant is stunted due to the pre-nuted soil ? I used scott's premiuim potting soil.....I saw someone else on here use it and have fanatastic grows.....

Also could screwing up the watering stunt it ? I over watered the first week and a half or so by watering about everyday....then i didnt water for 8/9 days...now its been about 2/3 since i have watered her.

I'm just trying to figure out why she is slow to grow and the leaves don't looks bountiful...they look shriveled / slightly droopy.....Just the bottom set of leaves have some yellowing.

Debating if I should water her...and if I do can I give her molasses with it ?

I have cheap ass mercury therms, it does the job, I don't worry about temp until it starts getting early 80's. As for the watering stick your finger in the soil about an inch and a half, 2 inches, see if it's moist. You could possibly be over watering, or watering enough but in too small of increments. You want the roots to stretch to look for water, I generally stick with at least half a liter. The bigger the root system the bigger the plant.

I'm sure that it's possible to grow higher, but a lot of phenos start decreasing their growth with the heat and I've read in a few books as well as from experience that once you top 85 it starts to stunt growth. I'd bet that auto have a natural higher tolerance for heat. ll I know is he's pretty stunted and that's something I've known that's stopped plants from growing. A lot of strains are bred for growing in Holland/UK and are pretty much fine tuned to that environment. The ones that do the best and are chosen grow the best in those temps, so it's possible ( I don't know where you get your seeds or w/e ) that you are working with a strand that really tolerates heat and I'd like to know what because I have a bitch of a time with temps in the summer, but almost everything I've read has pointed to 70-75 as optimal and 85 as a top end for growth. Someone else said 92 they stop growing, maybe that's the case, either way it's a possibility. I'm always open to learning I'm not claiming to be an expert but if I see something that I've read repeatedly could possibly be the cause I like to try and help out.

I think we may be honing in on the plant's stunted grow....I know you want lots of light.......But what do I want more ? extra light with high temps ? or less light with lower temps ?

With the 3 lights today I was runnin' at 88 F last time I checked....goin' to check on her now :peace:

Was up to 90....Dropped it down to 2 bulbs....one on top / one on the side......temp gauge was already droppin....

Thinkin' I will be watering her tonight.....Man I didn't know so much was involved in just growing a plant lol ....... I can see though how it can become a hobby

I think part of my problem may be drainage....I drilled holes in the bottom of the bucket bet the water tray I put underneath it is flush thus it's not really letting the water out....I've been wedging a small piece of wood underneath it to get that water to drain....I think I am going to take a couple of pieces of rebar and put them under the bucket to lift it up.....

So I think part of the problem has been water near bottom not draining completely or taking a long time to drain.....On the other hand I have cfl's really close to soil surface so that's drying the top few inches out.....

Anyone think I need a flush ? Does that water that was sitting in the pot for too long a problem ? Or just drain it and do regular watering? thanks
:peace:
