Dark edge and overall dry leaves

ever since i transferred to a larger pot ive been getting some dryness and color issues with some of my mature bottom leaves...the new fresh leaves have no signs of discoloration or dryness..the first pic was caused by touching a cfl for a few seconds..the last two show the browning and dryness that i need help with..

Whats your pH? Are you in soil or hydro? Whats the NPK value of your nutes? Looks like it MIGHT be a K deficiency if your pH is in line.

It looks more like ph issues but it could be a funny burn!
Did this come on slowly or did it just happen after feeding
it or changing your water or nutes? All it take is one bad
feeding or whatever!

As far as ph and other reading go I'm pretty blind with this grow. This is a bit of an experimental grow so I now know I need to be monitoring ph and other readings. All I can say for now is that after I transferred it to another pot I fully watered it. The soil is MG with some MG topsoil mixed in.

I tried MG and MCMG when I first started out couldn't do it!
Some grower say they grow with MG organic with good results!
Myself I gave up on dirt going to grow in all rock wool it's considered
hydro by hand method!

So what should I do. I was planning on letting it just go without water until the soil gets very dry and dusty. Maybe even let it outside to get some good sunlight this weekend.

Change the soil

If your plants are drying up - letting the soil continue to dry out further is not a good idea. Im not following your train of thought on this. And more light/sunlight wont heal the plant. If anything it will grow faster, exacerbating the problem.

MG is garbage. Change the soil. You also need to watch your pH. pH test kits are cheap - incredibly cheap, and you can home brew pH up or pH down on your own. As it looks now the plant is just taking the nutes from that lower leaf (because it doesnt know WTF is going on with the nutes in the soil). Normal behaviour, but not normal for it to happen this early. I would also not classify those as "bottom leaves" ...as far as I can tell there is only one node below it.

did you break the rootball when transplaning her? she does look to be showing signs of P and K def, but im wondering if shes just trippin out...how long ago you transplant?

I transplanted it 3 days ago and that's when it started and has been gettin worse. I can't change the soil for a couple days though. If it's starving for nutes should I water it lightly with plant food?

dont get me wrong, ill be the first to tell you MG is shit, and dont grow in it..but this is your first experimaental grow, just ride it out...that being said, MG come hot so you shouldnt have to feed for atleast a couple weeks...

How would one change the soil without causing damage to the roots? Would it be less risky to just get some ph readings and trying to get this soil "right"?

yea pH is alot bigger than new growers realize...BUT, i have grown in MG, and when i did i didnt pH my water, and my water comes out the tap at 8.2ish...but as of right now, best advice i can give is, wait it out a coulpe more days, and see how she acts when she settles into her new pot...if things keep gettin worse, i would def look deeper into your pH

No, MG is garbage. Change the soil as soon as you can.

Regarding how to transplant, this is how I do it
If you have a pliable pot, wait until the soil is dry and push the opposing edges together. Do this all the way around. Hold the plant with the stem between your index and ring finger with your palm to the soil. Tip the plant sideways with your other hand holding the pot just enough so the rootball and soil slides into your hand (do not pull with the hand on the stem). Use your other hand to pull the pot away from the soil. Set the plant down in a garbage bag and very very gently go around the plant caressing it. Loosen the soil gently and some clumps should fall off leaving you with mostly a nice rootball and less bad MG soil. You wont remove all the soil, just remove whatever falls off with gentle touching. I recommend gloves for when you touch the roots. The next step is to have one hand under the plant supporting the roots and the other holding it by the stem, gently ease it into the new already prepared pot (enough soil for the plant to sit 2" inside the pot, valley in center for roots to fall into, then add topsoil until just under the top of the pot, when watered it will lower).

Its important to be careful how you orient the plant, you want it to be straight and not waste energy straightening itself out. Ensure that you push the plant in the pot far enough; you dont want the root level equal with the top of the pot. Its pretty simple - just dont be aggressive with it, know its a living thing, but also know its not gonna die if you accidently have one root break.
