Supposed to add suger/carbohydrate to the plant during flowering to increase resin production. There are a few really good posts somewhere in here with the scientific skinny on the whole thing. I use 1.5 tsp per gallon of water.

Hightimes reported that it increased resin production and makes the buds swell up to 20% bigger. You can search mollasses on the hightimes forum and find the article.

It says 2TBS a galoon, not tsp's guys. tablespoons....

Just go to the grocery store and pick some up, its pretty cheap. Use it during flowering, once a week.

i killed my plant with molasses the first time i tried growing... i was impatient and wanted to see giant buds as quick as possible... i used a couple tablespoons in a gallon... however, i think i either gave it to them too early, or the problem they were having just got compounded by the molasses... other than that i've heard great things about it!

use molasses towards the end of flowering when flushing w/ h20 only..it will help b/c the plant needs those carbs. if done right it will make the buds swell up

Dont do it with hydro, it will clog everything up, and be a major hassel.

They sell some molasses like nutrients for hydro though, almost same thing, probably more expensive though.

Andy, no offence but I dont think the molasses killed your plants. I know people that have used molasses through their whole grow with no problems. So please dont blame the molasses, its an organic substance so its not like you could have added to much. If you do add to much, the plant just cant use it all, and it attracts insects and bugs.

So far, but this is my second batch, first real grow. I have 4 weeks to go till harvest (or thereabout) and have had pretty good success with miracle grow bloom, some sugar, honey, and a drop of aquasafe(what you use to make water safe for fish), and the water if filtered. I fill up and set in the flower room for a few hours to get the temp of the water right then water...and they seem to be doing great! Damn I cannot wait....I used the sugar twice so far...and the honey twice so far...watering about every 2nd or 3rd day now...in two weeks I believe I am going to have just water and honey to flush for a couple of weeks...then yummy time starts. Hope that helped...damn I ramble a lot...ramble ramble...

I seem to remember from when I first read about molasses that there is something specific to molasses that enhances bud density in flowering. The implication is that sugar or other sweets will not do the trick. It's a weak memory. But I think it's worth looking into the theory behind molasses use...

I remember that at the time I read what you are talking about I thought that honey would work too...which is why I am trying it.

Yeah, & the "science" is probably pretty speculative anyway, so I'm sure we will be interested in your results. Please post them when you harvest if you think of it.
