Seedling leaves turning yellow w.brown spots / purple stem

This is a 3 week old seedling.

during the last 3 days it seems to have been suffering from stunned growth. new growth is turning very bright yellowish green, and bottom leafs start turning yellow with brown spots.

in addition i have started noticing a slight purpling of the stem. (all problems visible in attached pictures).

I flushed the soil with X3 volume of pot just now. PH of runoff is 7.3-4 PH, watering with 6.5 PH water.

Seedling is kept at 84-93 degrees (F) during light hours (18H), 75-79 degrees (F) during dark period (6H), humidity is less than 20% at all times (desert climate). Current lighting is 2 45W Soft Blue CFLs (next stage is 250W HPS + Multiple side CFLs)

Soil is mostly peat with coconut fiber, soil used for growing in the past with no problems at all.

There are 3 other seedlings under the exact same conditions that look nice and healthy, no signs of problems.

What should i be looking into?

Take a pill and chill:lol: Those leaves are supposed to fall off and die, the plant uses then as nutrients the first week or two of life. It's telling you it will be wanting more nutes~not a lot more plz I hope you know better~

Thanks for the quick reply :-)

That - I know, my fear is that the yellowing will progress to higher leaves after these two fall off and up untill it reaches the new growth and kill the seedling, which has happen to me before with this strain - my tactic then was to do nothing - so I'm just looking to avoid a problem in the future.

looking good man.
those leaves will turn and die pretty quickly. i freaked out also and made post about it and people told me to chill also... now my plant is almost 5ft

however, my 2nd grow that im doing right now (not doc'ed), my leaves are falling off from the bottom going up the stem. so i think im having the problem you had.
im thinking im putting major heat stress on it, i have a couple hundred watt CFL's on it, and pretty close too i think so were on day 3 of moving the light back away and i *think* its recovering? i also flushed the soil like a dumbass not even thinking of heat stress so if something else happens then problem #2 was caused by me :(
fingers crossed tho!!!

gl w/ your grow. things look normal so far tho!

Only cotyledon leaves should die.

I totally agree with ghetto, tiny bit more ferts, not much, purple stem=more ferts too me, plant looks 99percent green though hence you must have fert levels close to spot on. Peace

I haven't been feeding the seedling at all.
Normally I start feeding after 5-6 weeks, this one is 3 weeks old. are you suggesting I should start feeding it now ?
Maybe 1/4 of recommended concentration?

Not if it kills it!lol!

If you have a few seedlings try it out, if its the only one i would not like to be responsible for killing it dude! Don't put so much pressure on me, i been involved in a lot of intensive threads recently and my nerves are shaky at the moment!lol!

I did say feed it soon but start of small but only as that is what i do for purple stems, you might be different, is there a lot more purple by week 5/6 when you do actually normally start to feed it?

And that is the minutest bit of purple i ever seen, i would wait for it to get worse first, straining my eyes to even see it. Peace

What kind of dirt are you using? That's a long time 5-6 weeks! If you don't do it normally wait and do like you normally would. I don't wanna be held responsible!

:-)

Normally at week 5-6 there's absolutely no purpling, which is why I'm concerned.

I'll wait a few more days to see if yellowing progress up, and let the soil dry out properly.
I've just flushed the hell out of it.

If yellowing will progress up, ill attempt to feed it with a minute concentration.
Thanks for the feedback.

Firstly why did you flush?

Secondly flushing leeches nutrients out of the soil, if you didnt mix up some ferts and add them back expect the soil to be low in nutes, probably more problems and purpling.

See how it goes, if it goes wrong blame Ghetto!lol! Peace
