I do not know your wife, or how she will react to her changes in perception and thinking. This can be overwhelming for some, and may result in a "freak-out" . May I suggest introducing her to the idea that she may feel as if she has no control over her thoughts, but in reality, they are her own thoughts presented in new ways, and she should welcome and consider them. If she tries to fight them, or cannot figure out why she is feeling the way she is, this might result in anxiety and fear, and she might not enjoy the trip to the fullest. Tell her to expect irrational and illogical thoughts, and just assure her that it is the "drugs talking" and that she will be back to normal in a few hours. Consider any thought that comes to mind, except any involving harm to oneself or others. If things become overwhelming, have her shut her eyes and cover her ears, and just focus on her breathing. Even though I have never felt out of control on a substance (other than alcohol!) I still go into every trip accepting the fact that it may seem that I am no longer calling the shots for a while. If looked at from a positive light, this could be like a rollercoaster ride, scary, yet controlled and therefore safe. If looked upon negatively, it could be seen as riding aboard a runaway train, an uncontrollable ride.
Now, back to first time necessities. Get a bunch of those bracelet glow sticks from the dollar store, and crack them a tiny bit at a time, and watch the reaction going on inside of the stick. If you are inside, you must check out the "needle me this eye candy" thread by puffer fish. It is absolutely amazing. You will swear that the still pictures are animated at times.
